I know there are many ways to make money in the card business. I've been trying to figure out what might be best for me since I have limited time each week. I've been buying RAW HOF rookies. My plan is to wait until the bulk grading goes down. Are there any holes in this, or anything I should watch out for?
@Jared Johnson, I would not buy anything, Brady. I'm talking more about Barry Sanders, Joe Montana, John Elway, and Drew Brees-type cards where you can get raw RC ones under $ 100.00. Only looking at Rookies.
I've been watching lots of YouTube videos. I saw a video of a vintage guy cleaning his cards. He claims he can raise his grading by at least 1 grade level up. Is that a thing? He said the value jump for just one level was huge in vintage.
When you look at a player's rookie card, there might be several different versions. One of my favorite current players is Freddie Freeman. He was a rookie in 2011. You have Topps, Chrome, Bowman Chrome, and updated versions. Is there a way to tell which is considered his true rookie card, or are all of them rookies?
I was looking at comps on eBay. I noticed a big gap between PSA 10 and PSA 9 sales, as we all know. Is there a market to purchase PSA 9? I was just curious. Also, is there a strategy for buying slabs and selling slabs?
