Welcome to Novus
We created this community around a simple belief: careers grow fastest when professionals help each other grow. That belief comes from servant leadership - a spirit of service I first learned in the military and have practiced throughout my career. Take care of the people around you, and success tends to follow. Modern careers are rarely linear. They are systems of skill, signal, and service built intentionally over time. The best opportunities rarely appear through formal career paths. They emerge from trusted relationships, shared ideas, and people who recognize the value you bring. Novus exists for professionals who want to create personal agency within that system. A simple idea sits at the center of this community: • Contribution creates credibility. • Credibility creates signal. • Signal creates opportunity. You’ll also see another framework here: Build → Signal → Lead Build real capability through learning and experience. Signal your ideas so others can see the value you create. Lead by helping others grow. If you’re here, you’re part of the founding group helping shape this community. Start by introducing yourself. Tell us what you’re working on, what you’re learning, or what opportunities you’re exploring right now. Glad you’re here.

Hi @Alice Taylor, my apologies I just saw your request to join and not sure how old it is. Welcome and I'm happy you're here. Make yourself at home, look around, engage, recommend a class, content, etc. @Stella Grimm , @Florian Vereecken and/or @Zoran Nachev; I've been distracted this last week w/ my new job. If you see new members in the waiting room, please approve. Best, Jason

No worries, busy good I hope. Mine has been a mix, mostly good problems to have. No worries on Friday. We'll see if there's traction as we grow a bit. Any interesting conversations @Florian Vereecken, @Zoran Nachev, etc. since I've been out? Let's consider getting intentional about some topics / activities, e.g., pop culture, recent events, tech, psychology, career dev / job seeking, resume / cv writing or any other topics. I haven't had much time to write or think this week, so I don't have a lot to offer as a starter. Oh, well here's a topic. I just posted this today - some unsurprising, but disturbing all the same, data about literacy and cognition decline in adolescents. Here's the link to that post w/ the link to cspan / congressional hearing. Dr. Horvath, the author, liked it which is fun but irrelevant. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/jasongrimm_doctor-on-how-screen-time-hurts-kids-cognitive-activity-7454953063490113536-ZTVA

LinkedIn Posts: QA & Support
This is the workshop. Not the stage. If you want polite applause, post on LinkedIn. If you want to get better, post here first. Use this space to pressure test your ideas before they go live. Hooks, drafts, half-baked thoughts, all of it is fair game. The goal is simple: say it better, make it land harder, and cut the fluff. How to use it: • Drop a draft and tell us what you want ripped apart • Bring two versions and let the room decide • Share a rough idea and build it out together • Give feedback that actually helps, not just “this is great” Ground rules: • No ego. We’re all in here trying to improve • Be honest, not harsh. There’s a difference • If you ask for feedback, don’t defend every line • If you give feedback, make it useful This is where signal gets built before the world sees it. Let’s get to work.

Hi all, e.g. @Zoran Nachev. Apologies for being quiet the last few days, busy w/ stuff. Adding support to your post Zoran and I just posted myself. I usually get at least one a week out on Monday morning local time, but missed that this week. I'm looking forward to reading yours as well. Here's mine too. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/jasongrimm_leadership-selfawareness-personalgrowth-activity-7452400058689290240-7mlm?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop&rcm=ACoAAABVA2QBjEesvwOdtt_aTV-3oOn3258UGa0

Hello everyone! 👋🏻 I’m so happy to be connected to bright minds like yours, and would be curious to know your view on personal development. More precisely an experience that lead you to grow immensely and that you look back on. Should we look towards infinite growth or let go and accept who we are? This question came from watching Justin Bieber who chose to show the world he still is the young 13 year old boy today. Anyway, I wish you all the greatest of week! 😃

Hey @Florian Vereecken , I think I just deleted your coffee chat for 11 PM EST tonight. I thought I had made that event by mistake instead of the Friday chat. Apologies for that. Given the time difference, it seems like we may want to create two weekly chats going forward - one for EMEA and one for US; you can handle the EMEA one and I can handle the US one. We can label them as such too. I'll try to remember to join the EMEA ones too when I can.

Lovely, thank you my friend. One of our new members, let me get his name, we're chatting in the welcome to novus thread. Seems like a really thoughtful and dynamic person that you may be interested in chatting to.

Share opportunities or collaborations that may benefit others. Examples: • Hiring needs • Services offerings • Project collaboration • Introductions • Speaking opportunities • Writing collaborations Novus exists to help members create opportunity for one another. Every strong professional community starts with good conversations. Here are a few prompts to get things moving: 1. What skill are you actively building right now? What are you learning, practicing, or experimenting with in your work or career? 2. What idea or perspective are you exploring more publicly? Writing, speaking, building, mentoring, or sharing insights with others. 3. What opportunity are you hoping to create or move toward this year? A role, project, collaboration, or direction you’re intentionally working toward. Feel free to respond to one of these or start a new discussion of your own. The goal is simple:share ideas, learn from each other, and help one another grow.
