It really does feel like Gen X got prepped for a version of adulthood that just… vanished. I’m 50 today and I’ve been working since I was 10, so I’ve seen the whole shift happen in real time. Things are definitely different now, but I guess we’re all just trying to adapt without losing the parts of us that actually worked.
