I Love the concert live!! Fantastic!
A night at the United Theater with Men at Work.
I went to my very first concert in Downtown Los Angeles last night at the United Theatre. The United Theater opened as a movie theatre on December 26, 1927; almost 100 years old. The line up of the night included three bands, Toad the Wet Sprocket , the Japanese pop-punk icons Shonen Knife and of course Men At Work. All of their sets were great. I was so happy to hear Toad's All I want and Something's always wrong live. Of course, the main act was great too. Everyone was on their feet dancing to the tunes of Down Under, Who can It be now and Over kill. It was a fun night out!!

Don't Sweat the Small Stuff ... reading stuff with Mila 43/100
📖 Book Don't Sweat the Small Stuff … and It's All Small Stuff by Richard Carlson, PhD. Synopsis: Simple ways to keep little things from taking over your life. The book consists of 100 short articles -- we'll go through them week by week. This week’s # 43: Become an Anthropologist Here's what you need to do: 1️⃣ Read it yourself, take time to reflect on it and make notes. 2️⃣ Join the live reading on Wednesday. We'll read and listen to the article together, line by line. 3️⃣ Share your thoughts. Keep your answer under 2 minutes. Be clear, and focus on expressing your ideas about the topic to practice real English speaking. ***** Anthropology is a science dealing with man and his origins. In this strategy, however, I'll conveniently redefine anthropology as "being interested, without judgment, in the way other people choose to live and behave." This strategy is geared toward developing your compassion, as well as a way of becoming more patient. Beyond that, however, being interested in the way other people act is a way of replacing judgments with loving-kindness. When you are genuinely curious about the way someone reacts or the way they feel about something, it's unlikely that you will also be annoyed. In this way, becoming an anthropologist is a way of becoming less frustrated by the actions of others. When someone acts in a way that seems strange to you, rather than reacting in your usual way, such as, "I can't believe they would do that," instead say something to yourself like "I see, that must be the way she sees things in her world. Very interesting." In order for this strategy to help you, you have to be genuine. There's a fine line between being "interested" and being arrogant, as if secretly you believe that your way is better. Recently I was at a local shopping mall with my six-year-old daughter. A group of punk rockers walked by with orange spiked hair and tattoos covering much of their bodies. My daughter immediately asked me, "Daddy, why are they dressed up like that? Are they in costumes?" Years ago I would have felt very judgmental and frustrated about these young people as if their way was wrong and my more conservative way was right. I would have blurted out some judgmental explanation to my daughter and passed along to her my judgmental views.
