Week 2 of the Legato Intensive is now live!
Head over to the Classroom and start working through the new material. This week builds directly on the timing and coordination you started developing in Week 1, but now the patterns become more musical and more challenging. Here is a quick overview of what you will be working on: ⢠All Hammers We continue developing fretting hand timing with new variations of the two-finger and three-finger combinations, including moving triplet loops that shift the accent across the pattern. ⢠Two-String Legato Eight-note Paul Gilbertâstyle loops (with an extra note added) that move across all string groups with eight different starting points. This is fantastic for timing and string crossing control. ⢠Multi-String Legato Three-note-per-string sequences across multiple scale shapes, plus the chromatic variation that expands the sequence to ten notes. ⢠Pentatonic Sequences Eight-note ascending and descending pentatonic patterns designed to smooth out your string crossings. ⢠Paul Gilbert Style String-Skipping Arpeggios Major and minor arpeggios with wide string skips and position shifts. These are extremely usable shapes and once they start to click they open up a lot of musical possibilities. As always, each section is structured as four five-minute exercises so you can stay focused and make real progress without overthinking things. Watch the videos carefully and check the tabs. Most of the questions that usually come up are already addressed there. If anything is unclear, post in this thread and make sure to tag me so I see it. Good luck with Week 2!
