Important Summer Update for WorkKin Life
As you might have noticed, we have not been very active in the WorkKin Life™ community, so we wanted to give you a quick update! Although we love the idea of running the community, we have realized that with balancing both communities, it will work better for our admin's schedule to take a break this summer. We are very active in our other Skool Community the Genius Business Studio , and would love to invite you to join us there in the meantime! We will be hosting writing WorkLabs and creative courses related to growing a creative business in there as well! For now, we are pausing activities and classes, but will launch more of them in the Fall of 2026! Thanks! Join the free membership Genius Business Studio HERE

Important Summer Update for WorkKin Life
Editing Is Where the Magic Happens
Writing is easy. Editing is where the magic happens. A good idea can be ruined by poor structure. A powerful story can lose impact because of small mistakes. That’s why editing matters. I don’t just fix grammar. I refine clarity, strengthen flow, and make your message sharp and professional. If your writing feels “almost there” let’s make it exceptional.

I am curious what genres of books you have edited? I think sometimes people get caught up in the concept of "writing a book", when they already have a wealth of knowledge, expertise, or experience that they are unaware could actually be turned into a book.
Why Do So Many Writers Start but Never Finish?
You open your draft. Read the first page. Suddenly it feels terrible, you delete a paragraph, rewrite the same sentence five time, close the document, you tell yourself you’ll fix it tomorrow. How many “almost finished” books do you have right now?

I so relate to this! Right now I have 3 ideas for books, but I don't even really know where to start, since I haven't written a book before! The conversations in my head are centered around who would even want to write something I've written, when there are SO many other amazing books out there already?
Announcing: Extending the Book Club theme for all of 2026!
Our Not Your Mother's Book Club theme is "Enjoy the Journey" , and since it encompasses so much of what we are about, we are extending it for the whole year so that we have more time to learn from these amazing books. As a reminder, the books we are diving into are: 📚 "The Big Leap" by Gay Hendricks 📚 "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho 📚 "The Midnight Unicorn" by Neil Reed 🎱 In the "Not Your Mother's Book Club" chat, we'd love to hear your suggestions on books, poetry, music, or quotes that tie into the 2026 theme of Enjoy the Journey. 🎱 The book club meetups are available in the Premium Membership Tier. We had a kick-off on the first Tuesday of February, and will meet periodically to share our 🗝️ K.E.Y. Takeaways within the club. For plan pricing, click below! Do it all and do it NOW!
Sometimes as I am reading new books that are motivating me to do something new or progress in a certain area in my life, I get the overwhelming feeling of 'I have to do it now and be perfect at it now.' Am I alone in this thinking? I doubt it. I often have to force myself to take a step back, give myself grace and talk to myself like I would talk to a toddler. 😂 Learning is a process and so is growth. It is ok that it takes time. I won't be perfect right away but that should not prevent me from trying. The only way to get better is to start and make mistakes that I can learn from. Life lessons by Amy. 😅

@Amy Kresge You are definitely not alone with this, I totally relate! I always have this feeling that "I'm behind", and especially this last few weeks I've been trying to figure out where that feeling comes from? I don't like it cause it freezes me and I want to quit trying! I saw a post the other day that said, "First just make it exist, you can make it good later" and that feels so much better for me, especially with writing! My words rarely sound the way I'd like them to the first time I say them or write them out 😂
