Congrats, this is awesome!
🤖 How are you using AI & automation?
I’m curious how people here are actually using AI & Automation tools… Are you using AI or automation to: - Save time on repetitive tasks? - Create content? - Estimate, plan or manage projects? - Automate emails or follow-ups? - Research or analyze information? - Manage your business? - Organize your personal life? - Do something completely different? What tools are you currently using? ChatGPT? Claude? Gemini? Perplexity? Zapier? Manus? n8n? Something most of us haven’t heard of? And maybe more importantly: What would you LIKE to automate or learn how to do with AI? Any tools that are piquing your interest? 👇 Drop your tools, workflows, questions, or even something you wish existed below. If enough people are interested in the same things, we can turn some of the answers into future Be A Pro discussions, tutorials, or bring in a Pro who can teach us how to do it.

In life, sometimes I use it like an organization calendar to help me schedule everything I need to do. Love it for that. I use it for 2 main things with regard to work--as a history writer, I use it (with a biggg dose of caution) to help organize information and at times do research (but I never use it to write for me). For the estimating software I developed, the main function of AI is to analyze what a project will need and then create a materials list for it. AI can be a huge time saver, but it is a tool, not a replacement for human eyes and human brains. I use Claude for work stuff (I find it more trustworthy) and Chat GPT for everyday stuff.

@Adam Finch That is a good use. AI is good at calculations

Alternately a biography of Benedict Arnold and The Three Body Problem

Yes, his name is pretty synonymous with being a traitor, but the book I'm reading gives a rounded perspective of what was happening at the time and the chain of events that triggered his actions. Very interesting.
School or No School?
I see a lot of discussion online these days about the value of a post secondary school education in our ever-changing world. What are your thoughts on going to university of College? School didn’t make me a Pro, but it did teach me how the Pros build this world. As I get deeper in my career, I do see a difference in a lot of people who didn’t have that formal education, even in the construction industry where I work.

I think it depends on how you learn--some people need books and classrooms, others need hands-on real-world experience.

@Adam Finch And I learn best through "doing". If I get an information dump by the time I need to apply it, I will need to go back and look at the specific information I need again. But if I just learn by doing and asking questions as I go, the knowledge sticks better.
