What do you do for a living?
What do you do during the week for work? If you no longer work what did you use to do? For many years I was an accountant/commercial manager. It was only at 40 that I returned to a creative field (where I should have been all along). I started by doing an intensive graphic design course and I loved it. While I was finding my creative feet, I served on independent school boards. It was in these roles I got to experience what good working relationships between men and women can achieve. Your turn.

@Tracey Wright oh interesting Tracey. I am learning a little vibe coding at the moment - I know it isn't nearly the same as knowing the actual code! What are you working on at the moment?

@Melissa Gill everyone if you haven't seen Melissa's Natural Dye workshop in the Classroom it is worth getting. She steps you through everything you need to know to start naturally dyeing your fabrics. The colours will surprise you.
Do you have a Colour for Coffee Hour on Wednesday
Do you have a colour you would like to see paired with others that you could use in a project. If so, comment with a picture of it or a colour code and I will review it on the call Wednesday morning. I will review colour submissions up to the day before so I have time to prep for you.

Who is a visual person?
And if so do you like context first or do you dive straight into the detail? In other words do you zoom out on a map to get the general direction first or do you zoom in to see if you need to turn left or right next? Our Moodboard Scavenger Hunt will cover both. Join me 11-20th May. 1 task per day. P.s. This image is an example of a moodboard an 11 year old girl created for her bedroom.

@Debra Verrall interesting. Do you usually have a purpose in mind for your dress before you make it?
How I create colour combinations
1. I use a method I call 5 Colour Method (5CM). - Bold - Complementary - Neutral - Light - Dark 2. I choose the colours from a Colour Type (in your Fabric Formula - Level 5. This is normally $80 DIY). This way I know they will go together. 3. I then use a Colour Scheme to make sure I have balance. For example this 5 colour combination is: Colour Type: Autumn Colour Scheme: Split Complimentary I will be sharing a bit more about this during our 10 day Moodboard Scavenger Hunt this month 11-20th May. I have also included an example of cushions that use this colour combination.

@Christine Vabre yes and if you want to add that hint of colour it only needs to be 5-10%.
