Would you go free, freemium, or paid with a new Skool community?
@Tamsin Kaminski asked this question this week in this post, and I wanted to hear what you think. Tamsin is building a Skool community around workplace culture and leadership, with a specific space for female leadership too. So, what would you do? 1️⃣ Free, freemium or paid? Would you start with a free community and give members the option to upgrade once they’ve experienced it? Or would you charge something small, such as $5 a month, from the beginning? If you’ve tried either approach, what happened? 2️⃣ One platform or several? When you’re growing a community, do you concentrate on bringing people in from one main social platform, or do you use several? What has actually worked for you? 3️⃣ How niche would you go? And thank you @Tamsin Kaminski for letting me share your questions with everyone! 🌷

I started with free (as I was building live), when I had my premium tier set up I went to freemium and then when I'd built up the classroom some more and had a small but engaging community I went to paid. I don't think there's one size fits all, it depends on your niche and your end goals. Everyone thinks their way is best and it will be for them but not necessarily for you. Experiment, that's what I did. I made business decisions based on my knowledge of my niche and what I wanted from my community - it works two ways. Here's an outline of my experience for each one - free: brought in the bots and spammers. Freemium: great to build up credibility and numbers. Paid: I'm still getting new members trickling in at the same rate as the free model, but I'm getting engaging members instead and that's quality over quantity. My community is very niche, so I'm not chasing the numbers. I'm building slowly and sustainably, hence paid wins for me. Also, if you want to be found on Discovery and growth boost, paid has its advantages.

@Jennifer Turner has grown her community, Digital Boss Hub, to over 1,000 women 🎉 🥳 Such a huge milestone - CONGRATULATIONS!!! 💛 Her group is all about helping women build real recurring income through things like paid communities, email marketing, and multiple income streams. Her group is currently still free to join until Wednesday, July 8th. After that, it will become a paid community. So, if you want to support Jennifer and also get into a great space full of women building online, this is a lovely time to join. Go check out Digital Boss Hub and help me celebrate Jennifer on this amazing milestone! 🎯🥳

✨ Wins
Share your wins for the week 28th June 🧡
It’s time for our weekly wins thread, where we look back at the work that has been taking shape behind the scenes. At the start of the week, lots of you shared what you were focusing on in this post. Now I want to hear what happened next 🤗 @Bev Powell-Smith you were staying cool in the heat and had client work lined up, plus work on your coaching website and lead. How did the week go? @Brian Stewart you were getting the governance part of the business sorted and moving into production. What progress did you make? @Samantha Dixon you were recording your courses and welcome messages for your 7-day taster. How much did you manage to record? @Lara Knutzen your focus was… focus 😅 Did it help you get anything ticked off this week? @Jan Appleton you were launching your first dynamic knitting pattern and freemium. How did the launch prep go? @Fanka Christabel Kibong you were focused on connecting with the right people and getting more visible. What did you do this week to get yourself seen? @Natalie Hurdley you had podcast outreach and YouTube content on your list. How did you get on? @Mardale Walker you were thinking about possible collaborations around your neurodivergent community. Did any new ideas come from that? @Dawn Cyr you were balancing courses, counselling work, and new virtual clients. Did the focus feel any easier this week? @Alberta Nkembe you were working on getting more paid members, scaling ads, and creating your onboarding docs. How did the ads go? @Amy Walker you were planning out content for the next month. Did you get it checked off?
