A Little More About Me 🫧
Hi everyone — I thought I’d use this space to introduce myself a little more and share why I created this community. I’m Jamie, a mobile dog groomer who has spent years working one-on-one with dogs and their families. One of the things I love most about grooming is building relationships — not just with the dogs, but with the people who care for them every day. Over time, I realized many pet parents want to do the right thing for their dogs but often feel overwhelmed, confused, or unsure about coat care between appointments. That’s what inspired me to start sharing education in a bigger way. In addition to grooming, I’ve written educational books focused on dog grooming, coat care, matting prevention, and helping pet parents better understand their dogs. I’ve also created children’s books inspired by real dogs I’ve groomed, designed to make learning about pets fun and meaningful for families. Many of my books are available on Amazon and were created from real experiences, real dogs, and real questions I hear every day. This community is something I’m truly passionate about because I believe education creates happier dogs, less stressful grooming experiences, and stronger relationships between pets and their people. I’d love to learn more about you too. Tell me: - What kind of dog do you have? - What is your biggest challenge between grooming appointments? - What made you join this community? - Have you ever struggled with brushing, matting, or grooming stress? I’m excited to get to know everyone here 🐾

A little more about me — I didn’t become a groomer just because I love dogs. I became a groomer because I love helping dogs feel better and helping owners feel less overwhelmed. One of my favorite things about mobile grooming is the one-on-one environment. Dogs don’t sit in cages, wait for hours, or deal with a loud salon. I get to focus fully on one dog at a time, which creates calmer experiences and stronger relationships. I’ve always been passionate about education because I realized so many pet parents truly want to do the right thing — they just need guidance that feels realistic and supportive. I also have my own dogs, and they remind me daily that every dog has a different personality, comfort level, and grooming tolerance. That’s shaped how I approach grooming with patience and understanding. Brynn is my little "BIG" man chihuahua. He is the face and inspiration of my mobile grooming business, Bubbles With Brynn. Noodle is my chi-weenie. He is the calmest, coolest, and most laid-back dog I have ever seen. Brittany......is my princess!! My one brain cell Pomeranian that just can't get enough attention. Finn is my anxious boy, and one of my best friends. He is a border collie and is the big brother to the crew. Then there is Bridgette. She is my corgi-pit mix puppy who is the cutest thing I've ever seen. But she does like to eat ceramic bowls and baseboards! I love them all and don't know what I would do without them! One thing I wish more people knew: grooming is not just about appearance — it’s about comfort, skin health, trust, and quality of life. I’d love to know — what’s something you wish you understood better about your dog’s coat or grooming needs?
Caring for One of the Most High-Maintenance Coats
Doodles are lovable, fluffy, and full of personality — but their coats often require more maintenance than many owners expect. Because doodles can have a mix of coat textures, their hair can mat quickly, especially when brushing routines are inconsistent or moisture stays trapped in the coat. Common trouble areas for doodles include: - Behind the ears - Armpits - Legs and feet - Under collars and harnesses - Tail area - Belly and sanitary zones Many doodle coats look soft and fluffy on the surface while tangles are forming underneath close to the skin. Doodle coat care often includes: - Regular brushing and combing - More frequent grooming schedules - Proper drying after getting wet - Preventing friction mats - Learning what coat length works best for your lifestyle - Understanding when a coat may need a reset haircut This space is here specifically for doodle owners to ask questions, share experiences, and learn how to keep coats healthier and more manageable between grooming appointments. Discussion starter: - What type of doodle do you have? - How often do you brush at home? - What part of doodle coat care feels hardest? - Have you ever been surprised by hidden matting under the fluff?

What Actually Helps Between Grooming Appointments
There are so many grooming tools and products available that it can feel overwhelming to know what your dog actually needs. The truth is — not every brush, shampoo, or spray works for every coat type. The right tools can make coat care easier, faster, and more comfortable for both you and your dog. This section is here to help you understand what products are worth using and how they fit into your routine. Topics you can ask about here: - Brushes and combs - Detangling sprays - Shampoos and conditioners - Shedding tools - Paw care products - Ear cleaning products - Dry shampoos and wipes - Grooming dryers - Coat sprays and leave-ins - Products that help reduce matting You can also share products you currently use and ask whether they are a good fit for your dog’s coat type. Discussion starter: - What grooming tools do you currently use at home? - What product has worked best for your dog? - Is there something you purchased that did not work well? - What grooming product confuses you the most?

Texas Heat, Rain, and What Your Dog’s Coat Needs Right Now
As temperatures start rising here in Texas, coat care changes too. Hot weather, humidity, rain, and muddy yards can all affect your dog’s skin and coat more than many people realize. This time of year often brings: - Increased shedding - Moisture trapped in thicker coats - Mud, grass, and debris getting caught in fur - Friction mats from damp hair - Skin irritation from humidity or standing moisture - More frequent outdoor activity and swimming One of the biggest seasonal concerns is moisture staying trapped close to the skin. Dogs who get wet from rain, sprinklers, pools, or outdoor play should be dried well — especially in areas like: - Armpits - Behind the ears - Chest and belly - Legs and feet - Under collars or harnesses Warm weather can also make matting happen faster because damp coats tangle more easily. Helpful seasonal habits right now: - Brush more consistently during humid weeks - Check paws after rainy walks - Dry coats thoroughly after getting wet - Keep sanitary areas clean and trimmed - Watch for hot spots or irritated skin - Remove burrs, grass, and debris quickly Texas weather can shift quickly, so small coat checks each week can help prevent bigger problems later. Discussion starter: - Does your dog love water, rain, or muddy yards? - Have you noticed increased shedding or tangles this season? - What part of warm-weather coat care feels hardest right now? - Do you dry your dog fully after getting wet?

What Happens at Home Matters Most
What happens between grooming appointments often has the biggest impact on your dog’s comfort, coat condition, and overall grooming experience. Many pet parents assume grooming only matters on appointment day, but the small habits you build at home can make future visits easier and less stressful. Between appointments is when coats either stay manageable — or slowly begin to tangle, mat, shed excessively, or become difficult to maintain. Simple routines can make a big difference, including: - Brushing consistently based on coat type - Checking hidden friction areas - Keeping paws, ears, and sanitary areas clean - Managing shedding before it builds up - Watching for coat texture changes - Creating calm handling routines at home Even just a few minutes each week can help prevent bigger problems later. This section is here to help you navigate real-life coat care between grooming visits and build routines that work for busy schedules. Discussion starter: - How often does your dog get groomed? - What part of between-groom care feels easiest? - What part feels hardest to stay consistent with? - What do you wish you understood better between appointments?
