Day Trading Struggles 😭
What has been your biggest challenge with day trading AND what about Day 2's session gives you confidence you can overcome that challenge?

Being patient with 250k evaluations has been my biggest challenge. I’ve passed one and I am very patient with it and doing well on the funded account. But I am anxious to get more funded and it feels like it will take way too long to build up to 20 accounts of that size so I rush things a bit and get set back. I feel like a trade will run away from me if I’m not in quick. I am looking forward to simplifying what I am looking for and allowing it time to develop and being ok missing out if it doesn’t fill my order and being happy getting paid off the one account while the others build.

Lightbulb for me was boiling the government debt problem down to 3 solutions and being able to position yourself to profit no matter which one plays out. It makes it easier to quell the fear of jumping in when you know you are covered for all scenarios.
Inspiration?
Here’s some weird things about me. Hopefully they can inspire you: - I was impossibly shy up until I graduated college. Never felt comfortable in any crowd. I was an athlete, would go all out on the field…but also a super nerd. Never went to parties, would rather go home and play final fantasy lol. - Trading and financial planning were not my first career choice. I actually went to college to be an accountant like my dad. 60k in student loans later realized that wasn’t for me. - I was divorced in my late 20s. Really forced me to look inward and focus on becoming the best version of myself. What you see now is the result of that, but I still probably have some fears around maintaining relationships because of it. Point is, I’m definitely not perfect. But I do have 100% confidence in myself and what I can do now. That’s all you need to change your life. I’m enough… You’re enough.

I was exactly the same in high school. Was a great basketball player but didn’t like most of the people so I stuck with my two best friends throughout the whole 4 years and never went to parties or other outings. Spent time with my family and playing games like FF as well. When I went to college the first time I didn’t know what I wanted to be so I took business admin and ended up in retail management. Hated my life during that time so I studied IT on the side and got a degree in Cybersecurity and recently reached my career goal of becoming head of my own IS program. But I’ve always loved investments and stock trading and am happiest doing that. Thank you so much for enabling me to take the first step toward becoming a full time trader/investor!
Was anyone else on this trade in NQ? Did you stay till the end?
This was an interesting trade today. I was tempted to close it out so many times during it. It lasted a little over 2 hours and kept going up and down, but I was determined to see it run its course win or lose. I also saw that the trend was making lower highs and lower lows, and that helped me stay believing in the short trade I did. I am training myself to trust the process and stop panicking out of trades, and this for me was a win on both emotional front and trade front. 👏👏💪

Yes I took that trade but I left my profit target at 2.5 to 1 and did not adjust. It was my first trade of the week so I wanted that guaranteed cushion. Great job on letting it play out! I would have done the same if I had a cushion to play with.

@Labs Coco I mean just my weekly profit in general. It's a good rule of thumb to pretend that you are starting with zero at the beginning of each week and be conservative on the first trade with your risk so you have a better chance of getting off to a good start. I didn't see that you had it at 2:1 and thought you earned more than that by letting it ride. My stop loss was $150 total but my stop loss box was smaller because I used a lower timeframe chart (1min) to enter the trade so 2.5 to 1 was still less than where it ended up bottoming out. I could have let it ride longer but I wanted that $420 profit to allow me to take other trades this week with house money. If I had let it ride I could have gotten 600 out of it. I'll do that with my next trade since I now have a "cushion" or house money to play with.
Stopped out by a tick then hit my profit target :(
If I had set it a tick higher I would have been good. So frustrating but that's just what happens sometimes....Also I did notice that the 5min candle was still green and hadn't pulled back yet when I set that order, so I should have anticipated that last fake out. Working on 15 second charts can be very profitable but is also tricky! Oh well I am 1 and 1 today on trades and still have profit for the day due to the 3:1 reward. Can't be upset with that....
