Okay, so, has anyone never had a Mac before and experiencing a major learning curve? Holy crap you'd think I've never touched a computer before. It's just a different user interface I guess. Control is the command key and I don't know what the Mac's control key is for yet. It's honestly like a little better version of the Chromebook I was using, but nothing like the old HP I had. I guess I just have to play around for a while lol... I did get signed into everything I needed though. Second question - the school email they gave us. That's just to get discounts and stuff, right? Is anyone using that as their sign in on anything? I'm still using my regular personal one...

@Tanya Pinky Long I have been using Microsoft Copilot to walk me through everything. I just keep it open and ask it questions as I go along. I have got it set up pretty well now - it has taken a few days though to get to where I feel pretty comfortable with it. If you have a favorite AI assistant, I would just use that to help you along.

My Desk
I want to share my classroom, I am actually staying with my adoptive dad. I have lived on boats since 2019. My poor choice of character allowed me to lose my home not once, twice, but three times lately and here it is in the raw. It's great here our differences don't title who we are but where we were going....🧚

@Dalton Holt couldn't agree more with you. At 43 years young and starting over for myself after having gotten 2 out of 4 kids out of the house (2 more to go.. 9th and 10th grade currently), I've learned that only I can make myself happy and no one else is going to do it for me. Nothing will ever be perfect, but it will be what you make of it. So, live each day with purpose and get after what you want out of life. There's no time like the present!

@Heather Brooks man, I couldn't get it out fast enough.... Nor put it down once I got it out. Took a pause to feed some hungry teenagers after they got home from school, then back at it. Then all of a sudden it was 8pm lol... Then my aging body said it was time to give up for the evening lol

Jan Cohort, laptop update
I just got an email from FedEx with a shipping label from Maestro to me dated for Monday. It is THEIR label with boiler plate directions for printing, putting on the package, and arranging for pickup. Hopefully that is just their way of alerting students of shipment.... and w00t! My laptop is coming.

@James Hart thanks to you talking about this and my natural curiosity - I now am tying what I have been learning in lessons to where I can actually apply it. Using VSP to write code, using Gemini CLI as like this AI assistant to help write code and then GitHub would be like where I could save my work and build my portfolio. I hope I am saying all this correctly. Being absolutely brand new, I wasn't really connecting the lessons to the real world, and I think I get it now. I have been using Gemini CLI to help me play around and write code with VSP all evening and its been awesome, lol. Thank you! I guess I should get back to actually lessons now, lol!!

@James Hart thank you for the advice. My practice codes for now are so simple - like do some math or print these words or ask for this input and then display it together type stuff, but I know I will eventually get more useful stuff together. 😀
