I'm having a bit of a renegade rethink 😈
NeuThinking was always about supporting those who thought differently, and whilst it was created with good intentions, the intentions didn't always sit right. But now they do, and they're alot clearer. Because of this, you might start noticing a few changes, and hopefully, you'll like them. If not, I fully understand that this might not be the group that you initially signed up for, and trust me, the ethos will still remain the same, but at the same time, I understand if you want to step out. Meanwhile, I would love to know what you think of the new NeuThinking styles ?

Thank you for the feedback @Bruno Militz , I appreciate your opinion. In truth, the first one is the banner for the group, the second is the profile pic, so am glad that you like both. 👍

Thanks @Sarah Hyland, it certainly feels a little more personal, and hopefully a little more of an aesthetic feel for the community.

Have you ever bent the rules for good ?
So, I'm gonna be honest.. I've not always told the truth, and I've not always followed the rules. 🤫 I know, it might come as a bit of a shock, but in my past, I've been known as a bit of a blagger and an occasional rule breaker, but I promise, there was usually a good reason. For example, one of my first jobs was in a music store in a small but busy shopping arcade. Because the arcade was full of other stores, we had a strict rule that the volume was not to go above 6 or 7 (🤷🏻‍♂️🤣) out of respect for other shops and shoppers. However, occasionally, I might have gone past this point. I certainly remember when The Prodigy's Music For The Jilted Generation came out. I unwrapped the CD with such excitement, put it in the tray, and pressed play. Volume at 10 !! 😈 Granted, there were some disapproving looks, and my manager glared at me, but then I asked him to watch. Within a few minutes, I could see the security guards standing outside the store start flexing in their uniforms. I could see shoppers in the fashion store opposite, planning what outfits they were going to purchase for the night out that they hadn't even planned yet. I saw the kids outside the store, dancing, as older couples would smile at them having a good time, and would then try and shuffle themselves. People who were in the store, but weren't used to this style of music, would subconsciously start nodding their heads to the beat. Shoppers would come in, ask me what was playing, and even though I couldn't actually hear them, I only had to point at the "Now Playing" stand, with the CD's stacked below. That day, we sold out. We had over 100 copies of that album. Other store managers came in and told me and my boss, that they had more sales that day than an average weekend before, and from that day on, every Saturday, I became known for regularly getting told off by my boss, but also celebrated for everyone selling more than before. That also started my desire to become a DJ, which followed one year later.

Welcome to NeuThinking.✨
Some of the best things ever built didn't come from following the instructions. They often came from someone deciding the instructions were wrong and finding another way through. That's the mindset here. Thats NeuThinking. Creatives, creators and entrepreneurs who see things from a different angle, and use it to actually get things done, and not just talk about doing them. It's not rule-breaking for the sake of it. It's rule-bending with a point. It's the kind that gets something good built, something worth doing, something that helps the people who need it, even if it means going around the way it's "supposed" to be done to get there. This is a community for creators and creatives who look at "the way it's done" the way a good artist looks at a blank wall. Not as a boundary, but as a canvas, and one that can open doors if you work with it the right way. Nobody here needs fixing, because there's nothing broken. There's just a future that hasn't been built yet, and a decision to stop waiting for permission to start building it. That also includes people just starting out. You don't need the answers yet. You just need to be willing to find them a different way than everyone else. Start here: 1. Introduce yourself — one line, no essay 2. Show up to Coffee & Contemplation — Monday or Thursday, coworking with others who are happy to colour outside the lines occasionally No streaks. No shame for missing a day. Just a room full of people quietly rewriting the rules while everyone else is still following them.

Olá @Bruno Militz 👋, so glad to have you here, and sorry for the delay in replying to this. Brazil has always been one of those places that looks both amazing and awakening, as well as having such a cultural history, at the same time. Do you think you would ever go back, or are you happy to be stateside now ? Is there a certain sector that you work in, and if someone asked you, is there a common question that comes up in your sector, what would it be ? Looking forward to the conversations both here and in your great community 👍

Your spoon’s just a tribute. 🥄
There.. I said it. Now, don’t get me wrong, your spoon is fine, but mine is THE spoon. 🔥 In our house, it is known as “The Spoon of Plenty” and it is perfect in every way. The exact right weight. The exact right curve. The perfect balance of sharpness & smoothness. I didn’t choose it. It chose me. Now, I know that this might sound a bit strange to some, but others will understand when I say that if it gets lost in the drawer, it’s not “mild inconvenience,” it’s a small personal crisis. If someone else uses it, unless specific permission has been granted, or is offered for someone to feel better because of the “magic, regenerative properties” that it possesses and grants the user, it feels like betrayal. I know that it shouldn’t matter, and that there are 11 other spoons in the drawer, but those are decoys. Impostors. Tribute spoons, if you will. This isn’t fussiness. It’s sensory consistency. When a neurodivergent brain is already managing a lot of input, relying upon one less unknown (hello, familiar weight and texture) is genuinely regulating. It’s the same reason that you’ve got a go-to hoodie, a specific route to work, a playlist on repeat. So there’s no shame in the spoon loyalty. Protect it. Name it if you have to, but just remember that there can be only one.. the rest are just tributes. 🥄🎸 Long live the spoon. All hail “The Spoon of Plenty” 🙌

Thanks @Bruno Militz , and ironically, I also have favourite pens too. I love these types of pen, as they have the click element, as well as the rubber grip, which essentially makes it a fidget toy, a tactile sensory object and a functioning tool, all in one. I don't know about you, but I am a huge believer that having something that helps to reframe us into certain moods, whether it's a spoon, a pen, a scent or a playlist, can be hugely beneficial, although I also think that unfortunately, for some, it can be a massive obstacle when you become so reliant on an item to function too.

Closer to qualification.. 🤗
It's results day for me today for my ILM Coaching & Mentoring qualification, and even though I'm not quite there yet, my assessor gave me some really good feedback. Because I'm a client short, I knew that I was never going to pass this time, but I still had to put in what I had already done, and my assessor said this: "Your response so far is excellent, James. You have considered to such a detailed extent the benefits that were realised by client one. Please do the same for client two, and you could also account for how the coaching activity with your clients benefitted you, too. Great work so far, please continue with this high-quality standard!" Having this type of feedback from people who are already respected in the field is really reassuring me that, even though I know I have more to do, I'm still going in the right direction and that the quality I'm delivering is exactly what I had hoped it would be.
