@David Lawrence student service AI chat has useless information. It swore from the beginning that I was getting an M2 Air, then AFTER it shipped, it said I would get a Neo. That section is really for laptop support AFTER we receive them.

MacBook
Okay, so, has anyone never had a Mac before and experiencing a major learning curve? Holy crap you'd think I've never touched a computer before. It's just a different user interface I guess. Control is the command key and I don't know what the Mac's control key is for yet. It's honestly like a little better version of the Chromebook I was using, but nothing like the old HP I had. I guess I just have to play around for a while lol... I did get signed into everything I needed though. Second question - the school email they gave us. That's just to get discounts and stuff, right? Is anyone using that as their sign in on anything? I'm still using my regular personal one...

the MacOS is a great system, but a little to get used to if unfamiliar. It is far more robust than windows because under the fluff is a Unix based core. I use the school email for signing up for discounted stuff and for AI related newsletters.

@Joshall Fites no reason to use the MacBook at all. But it is owned by the school until you finish. MacOS is closer to Windows than iPhone/iPad is to Android IMHO/E. If nothing else, I bet your boys can put it to good use.

Procrastination....
Anyone else procrastinate all week and now have a whole bunch of lessons and a discussion post to finish? 😆

not procrastinating, just trying to keep up with life and moving forward, I was very behind during my second unit of the first term, I didn't finish up the first term until 3 days into the second!!! As of today, I am 2 lessons away from finishing 'this week' and plan to jump right into tomorrow's week's work tonight and get back ahead of schedule. I need to add another solid green circled A to my page 🤩

Laptop?
I tried to ask while ago through reddit, but it said posts about laptops are blocked. Has anyone received their laptop yet? If so what kind do they send and how long did it take?

@Ian Rosean the neo is more than enough. No one is doing heavy AI lifting on a MacBook alone. I posted a podcast the other day interviewing Steve Willison (co-creator of Django web framework and at the forefront of AI dev usage), he does most of his work these days from his iPhone walking on the beach.
