Hi guys! I am James and I am studying Physics at Bridgewater State University.
Originally I wanted to pursue a career in Physics Education but I have recently been invited to a lab at my school where we are pursuing alternative and easier methods for creating qubits. This has really peaked my interest. My #1 goal is to find a job that will hire me and pay for my masters, so I can continue to support my wife and I while pursuing a career that is exciting and innovative.

We use NV centers in diamonds to hold individual quantum bits steady, use brief pulses to put them into superposition and flip them in controlled ways, and then measure the light they emit to check performance. From those signals we learn how long the qubits stay stable and how reliably we can run basic operations. I just started so I really haven't gotten to do the advanced stuff.
