I really appreciate you sharing this @Scott Johnson. There’s a lot of humility in what you wrote. I think many of us like to believe we naturally see the best in people, but, from my perspective, being honest enough to admit it’s something you’re intentionally practicing takes real self-awareness, and that's awesome. The thought, “This person is doing the very best they can with the information they have,” is powerful because it doesn’t excuse behavior—it simply creates enough space for compassion to replace assumption. I also loved your last thought: “Whatever I have to offer comes not from judgment, but from vision.” That’s a beautiful distinction, and one worth sitting with.
