Wow... its hard to fathom that our TN climate zone matches southern California... zone 7a/b in my notes is usually the last week in April. I have tried so many times to start buckwheat and the late frost gets it every time. Although, rumor is we will have an early summer this year.
So today was another day of some more cleaning I was able to fill the raised beds completely adding new soil and using items from the garage and repurposing them outdoors in the garden so far I like the outcome but I am still not finished.
Hello, Gatherers I have been cleaning raised beds, outdoor garden to be able to begin this season gardening journey! Have you began getting things ready outdoors?
@Carmen Agosto-Cruz start watching for places to buy grass hays and alfalfa as your bulk materials... save coffee grounds and food scrapes... Have you ever thought of starting a worm farm?
If you have a few minutes today here are three small tasks you can do today. - check soil moisture and health - If you’re growing outdoors check under leaves or surfaces for any pests - Add compost or any organic matter to your raised beds or containers Small actions today create a healthier tomorrow!
@Carmen Agosto-Cruz sounds good... I did the same last year and offered free plants on facebook, glad I did... I had a couple elderly folks come by to get some that did not start any and a young family that just moved to the area that did not have the ability to start any... gratifying in themselves...
