How Pharma fails metabolic health!
Many default to a pharma-first approach. How could this actually perpetuate modern chronic diseases?
How Pharma fails metabolic health!

@Coach Kristin sickness and symptoms has never been a pill deficiency. Seeking pills as a fix is like diving into an empty pool. Instead, fill the pool with water, proverbially speaking, with metabolic health using proper foods like red meat, eggs, fish. The body can fight symptoms and sickness when cellular function is optimized by way of metabolic health.

@Coach Kristin them saying sugars and carbs are the brain's preferred energy source is true only when it's the ONLY option. When ketones are available, they're the most abundant energy source in the brain. But significant and efficient ketogenesis, along with true fat adaptation, would require cutting carbs and sugars.

@Mathieu Morin modern day and mainstream nutritional studies ignore the 2-3 million years humans have survived and thrived on meat-based intake. Today's "long-term" studies typically benefit pharma, processed food corporations, governments, monocropping, which tend to perpetuate disease management instead of disease prevention or curing. Managing symptoms, as I assume you agree, is a business model that doesn't include healing and health as it's backbone business model.
Questions about mycotoxins and trouble with fat adaptation
I recently found myself in a cohort of people who had the main goal of healing their depression. The program focused a lot on keto and not necessarily carnivore, but the science seemed sound from what I could tell. The confusing thing for me is that I'm the only one who really felt better throughout the month long program, because I've been in ketosis before and modified the dietary plan to take out as much plant material as possible. I'd say the only thing I had occasionally wouldn't upset my GI was downing a shot of olive oil every now and again or drizzling it into the food for variety. The other 8 people never really felt better and were still adjusting to getting fat adapted. We keep in touch still, and they're struggling to get into ketosis. I guess my question is, are there really situations where ketosis won't work for people? I know one person is trying to heal their MS, another person is dealing with an incredibly high body load from mold, and yet two other people are dealing with Lyme disease along with autoimmune issues. It just seems like there was much more to consider rather than just diet, which might actually be causing higher stress on their body. Would appreciate any insight from people who have experience/know of others who've dealt with this before. It's new to me, and I have no idea how to approach it.

Metabolic status (KETOSIS ) and external factors (mold and Lyme ) are two different distinctions. Properly management of both are vital to proper health outcomes, but one doesn't control the other. With that said, let's zero-in on the metabolic side and start by discussing KETOSIS. It strictly means the liver is creating ketones, often for a short period of time. Ketosis happens frequently even for standard dieters, especially during their sleep when enough time has lapsed to allow excess glucose to be packaged in the cells and muscles - yes standard dieters produce ketones. Now enter the topic of discussion - FAT ADAPTATION. This is a metabolic state that's long term. It includes ketone production, but at a much more efficient rate than someone who might be mere days or couple weeks into ketosis. Why?! Because a fat adapted metabolism evolves to run very effectively on fat and ketones. This power punch duo requires less ketones, as a result. All this to say, fat adaptation requires a strict adherence to fats and proteins. It must be both, not one or the other. All plants, sugars, and carbs must be removed for optimal fat adaptation, because these foods don't contain proper fats and proteins. Only meat carries the only essential macros required for humans. Being FAT ADAPTATED will, for most who live this lifestyle, promote mental AND physical healing, including healing from chronic depression. Hope this helps! All the best! to mental AND physical health

@Coach Kristin absolutely! Sometimes it requires multiple "no thank you" comments since people assume we want carbs plants and sugars. Once we discover they ruin optimal health outcomes, saying no becomes simple and desirable.

@Coach Kristin absolutely. Each and every ingredient (or lack thereof) matters in this lifestyle, especially once adapted. Pepper and mustard give me powerfully negative responses whereas I used to consume them daily with foods.
