Good day Homebase family! I am trying to continue to engage with you all on my journey home to Mama Africa but it’s been hard. It’s taken so much energy just to get myself reacclimated to normal life after 10 weeks away. I’m starting to find my legs again! Anyway, this is just a little video about how I started my sabbatical with a trip to DC to witness the Buddhist monks Walk for Peace! It was a tender and yet powerful experience. Tens of thousands of people descended upon DC on February 9 searching for a sign of love in this world and they found it! To witness peace in a place that seems devoted to chaos was especially impacting. They walked approximately 3700 kilometers (2300 miles) in the middle of the winter and some walked barefoot. It was a grueling experience for them but all the while they kept that quintessential Buddha snake all the way! One of the monks was even hit by a car and lost a foot on the journey…and after healing kept participating as much as he could. People kneeling and bowing on the side of the highway waiting for just a brief moment with them. I was weeping. This is what I’m on! MORE OF THIS PLEASE! Love you all.

Hello all. This is a big medase from your boy. It’s so nice to be home and back to a normal rhythm after my trip to Ghana! Hello family. I just wanted to leave a short note to thank all of you for your support on my five week adventure in Ghana. I look forward to shouting out some of you good people as you were instrumental in making my time in Ghana fruitful and enjoyable. It was far more than I could’ve expected. I made new friends, ate new food, explored what the greater Accra area has to offer. It’s far more than I could absorb in a five week period. This is me just saying hello in the midst of recovering from my jet lag and looking forward to re-engaging with everybody. Talk soon!

Hey there. I resting with my friend in Accra tonight and I am feeling so grateful and excited. I had a big chunk of free time to myself today. What are some things I normally do during a break like this when I'm traveling? Binge watch a show I've wanted to catch up on, veg out and watch mindless TV, read, listening to music (constantly), texting friends and family, catch up on emails, etc... you get the point. You probably do something similar. I chose a different kind of binge tonight. It was sooooo fun. I clicked on the classroom tab here on Homebase Africa! Honestly, again, I am blown away by this teams consistent generosity of heart and spirit. If you haven't checked these out yet I highly recommend it. They are excellent and have given me a lot of good information to chew on and start planning for. Even in the free membership, there are so many incredible tips, pointers, warnings, how to deal with a 'bad guest', and much more. This material could have easily been kept behind a paywall because it's that detailed, but Weyni and Marvin have given these resources away with no expectations. I'm so impressed. The crazy thing is that there are even more detailed instructions for the members. I'm looking forward to getting access to those in the near future. Anyway, thanks Homebase Africa!
