From BEFORE the internet 🤣 The internet has always evolved. The creators who last are the ones who build infrastructure, not just content. _____ Q - Is there any nuance to this bestie? Jacky, yes. There’s nuance. A lot of it. And when something sounds like “declaration of war on the internet,” my nerd radar lights up. First, the factual layer. India did update its IT Rules and advisory guidance around deepfakes and unlawful AI content. Platforms are required to act quickly once notified of certain illegal content. But the “three-hour” framing is more complex than the video implies. Typically, takedown clocks start after a valid notice is received, and they apply to clearly unlawful content under existing law. That is not the same as “identify every AI-generated post in three hours.” The operational burden is real, but the apocalypse framing is doing heavy lifting here. Second, the math argument. Yes, YouTube gets 500 hours per minute. But platforms already rely heavily on automated moderation systems for copyright, terrorism content, child exploitation, etc. They’ve been doing that for years. This isn’t some brand-new technical impossibility. It’s an expansion of an already automated ecosystem. The scary part isn’t that AI will moderate AI. That’s already the case. The question is how well those systems handle context, satire, and edge cases. That’s where nuance matters.
