Celebrating 700 days Spanish streak!! And a couple of other things 🥰
Hi Tribers! As per usual - until further notice, celebrate everything!!!! (MMM) I started learning Spanish like 2 years ago from an app called Duo Lingo. My reason - I got booked to play Eclipse festival in Mazatlán, Mexico and wanted to do less touristy stuffs while there AND speak with the locals in their native language. I did understand mostly everything and responding was a bit tricky… I feel like the best way to learn any language is to live in the country and submerge yourself completely in the culture… When that’s not the case, Duo Lingo is a great alternative, slower of course and yet captivating. Me and @Nadzee A are having a friend streak - it’s fun! It seems like a long time 700 days and a lot of dedication… time flies tho, when you are having fun. Heck, I even bought a star link so I can continue my daily practice while at Burning Man lol For those of you who have not been at Burning Man - there is absolutely no cell coverage there EVER 😅 100k people… Anyways, sharing this gratitude I have! P.S. also grateful that we found Chad, he is a member of our Goosify and all of us have been worrying for days for him! And, grateful for my successful interview for a Skool podcast - should be coming out next week sometime. Regardless of my controversial opinion on a few Skool related topics, the interviewing person was encouraging and entertaining — and I said what I have to say! lol For sure will piss some people off! For sure that doesn’t bother me - easier to sort through the BS… Cuz… YOUR VIBE ATTRACTS YOUR TRIBE! Just like says in my profile — for a reason! People love me - because I say it how it is. Some can’t stand me - because I say it is 😅 You can’t be everyone’s cup of cake… or you will end up being a doormat. Been there done that. Thank you but no thank you! Tell me what are you grateful for??

@Rositsa Aleksandrova Most of the posts I've seen are people asking about features, growth strategies, etc. So it seems like they just want that. Which is also probably why I don't spend a lot of time in that group, lol.

@Rositsa Aleksandrova I'm in some marketing communities and I'm not sure Skoolers fits in with those either. Some of my marketing friends get their posts deleted regularly too. So it's more tech bros maybe. If it's not stuff that would be on Skool News I guess it's not stuff that would be on Skoolers.
💕 A Return to Love 💕
I feel like lots of us need to hear this daily! P.S. shoutout to @Dinka Salvador who shared this poem in her community, then I read it and made this video. I shared it there, in the comments, under her post with this poem also. 🤣 I caught myself almost getting into analysis paralysis (like this post here about the Tribe’s levels 🤣🤦‍♀️ - yep, still mulling over those 🤣🤣🤣) in which category to put this in here - “shoutouts & wins” or “listening sessions”. I chose fast “listening sessions” cuz many Tribers go only there - just to listen to beautiful stuffs 💕✨

Are you putting yourself 1st? I didn’t…
Last night I went through so much!! It all happened after reading a comment of @Chanie Twersky in this post. I cried ALOT realizing ALOT!! I realized that all my life I was ignoring the wants and needs of my soul and putting others first even if they don’t deserve it… If I could help - I always did. It felt like my duty. It felt like if I didn’t help when I can, I’d be a bad person. But some people do not deserve our energy, time and efforts. Reciprocity is a key factor. And, I am not saying to do things for others with an expectation of receiving something in return!! I am saying, that if there is a proven track record of this person consistently treating you like a doormat, set healthy boundaries!!! Protect yourself!!! Takers… just take! It’s up to US to lay those boundaries. And something to be said about… sometimes we just outgrow friendships. And we got to let go to let in… Do you regularly audit your “friends”?
Are you putting yourself 1st? I didn’t…

@Rositsa Aleksandrova Yeah I definitely would have not been having any of that. You don't want to hold on to grudges, it won't serve you, but that doesn't mean you have to forget or pretend either.

@Rositsa Aleksandrova You can't keep doing the same and expecting different. That is 💯 true. It's fine to feel sorry for someone, but there shouldn't need to be any apologies made beyond that on either side.
🌈🌈Name of levels in our tribe
Good beautiful Sunday Tribers!! What are your thoughts on naming levels here, in our tribe? What ideas do you have?

@Rositsa Aleksandrova I can't really give you much input as far as the specific names because it really depends on you and what kind of vibe or messaging you're going for. But I can give you the thought process I used when coming up with mine. My group is centered around Tai Chi, which is part of the larger Taoist philosophy. It is related to Qigong and Kung Fu. Which is related to Zen Buddhism. So within these things are certain principles and hierarchies. I wanted my levels to reflect that and to have a logical progression from beginning to end. It is a journey and within that are many steps. There is a Zen concept of "10 Ox Herding Pictures" which represent the 10 steps to enlightenment. So the first 5 levels are each one of the steps. First you are "Searching for the Ox" then you "Discover the Ox" and so forth. The next 4 levels transition out of that quest for enlightenment and toward "becoming". So I pulled from another related area and level 6 is "Monk" then "Master" (as in Kung Fu Master) and so on. Each level represents a step in the journey and the individual's progression from one step to the next. So what is the goal you're aiming for with yours?
I am having a funeral … do I need to wear black? Do I bring my black or my rainbow colored keyboard?
I am forced to play by a friend whose dad passed away. She asked me to play piano and it just didn’t feel right to say no… So, I am doing it… at the moment I only have 2 keyboards that I can bring. One is a full sized (88 keys) rainbow colored one and the other one is small (61 keys) but black… He was a big shot in the music industry and musicians from all over the world are flying in for his funeral. There will be all kinds of musicians playing… I have no idea what I will play but not worried about that - I can always slap hours of anything playing… I am more concerned about wearing colors (like in the photo) and my having matching rainbow keyboard… The small black one is just very restricting… Would it be inappropriate to be full on colored and sparkly at a funeral!?? 🤷‍♀️ What are your thoughts on this?

It really depends on the vibe. What is the person and was the dad like? Typically funerals are pretty somber so wearing the bright tie dye would be out of place. Similar to if you wore that to a black tie event or something like that. But it can depend. For most people it's a day of sorrow but some do a celebration of life. As for the keyboard, I wouldn't be too concerned with that either way. 61 keys can make plenty of good music and you should be able to octave up or down. A bright color keyboard shouldn't offend anyone because it's not like you have specific funeral instruments. So whatever you want to do there.
