First hunt with my Pup
Just wanted to share this here. I picked up the virtual course just around 3 months ago. And it has been amazing. I’ve never trained or had a hunting dog of any sorts before my gsp Cooper. The virtual course has been an absolute life saver. Its step by step guide is so simple to follow and only takes 30 or so minutes a day for most of the training, and it has a solid foundation behind it so if you ever get a hiccup in your training you have something to fall back on. My pups only about 7 1/2 months old and I took him on his first hunt at a preserve and he slammed on point on all 6 birds and held until I got there to flush some were 100 yards away and he still held while I worked my way to him. If I could have shot a little better we’d have 6 birds down lol. But what I’m getting at with this post is if you’re on the fence about getting the course. Get it!! It’s worth its weight in gold. I can’t wait till this fall we gonna get after some wild birds🤙

Puppy pulling on return walk home
I have a 12 week old GSP that I walk on a trail that starts next to our house. On the way out on the trail she does great (stays with me, sniffs around, doesn't pull). But the second we turn around and head back home, all she wants to do is pull the entire time. It's getting to the point where it sounds like she is choking herself with her collar. I tried using kibble to get her to stay next to me (practicing heel), but she showed little to no interest. That worked twice and then she didn't care about the kibble and just wanted to pull on the leash. Has anyone experienced this before, and if so, do you have any recommendations? She's too small for the training collar I bought here, so I'm considering switching to a harness to prevent her from hurting herself. Having a trail right here is incredibly convenient, so I'd like to find a solution to this. Thank you ahead of time to anyone who offers up any advice!

A harness will actually encourage pulling done do that. Honestly, she’s too young to be trying to learn heel; walking on a leash. If you have the virtual training course the puppy section walks you through what you should do. I’d say she doesn’t really need walks, get her energy out using her brain doing training sessions on a Cato board or a Klimt board work on that obedience “place” “heel” work on a board before you try and work her on a leash in a place she wants to go adventure
