Hey everyone ✨ Happy Wednesday I've been in tech for 4 years now. I currently hold my CompTIA Security+ and CompTIA CySA+ certifications. Right now, I work in patch management while continuing to grow my knowledge and skills within cybersecurity. I would love to relocate very soon. I'm currently preparing to start studying for two new certifications. My overall goal is to transition fully into cybersecurity, so I’ve been using AI to help me build projects and gain more hands-on experience that I can speak about throughout my journey. One project I’m currently working on is a phishing email detector, which has been helping me learn more about threat detection, security analysis, and automation. I’m excited to continue learning, networking, and connecting with others who are also growing in tech and cybersecurity!

My name is Jacquez (Quez) for short, I am a 10 year army veteran with telecommunications background. I have been working on DevOp Engineering projects a little over a year now. I am currently in my junior year at ECPI University studying for BS Information Cybersecurity and Cloud Computing. Hi everyone! I’m new to the tech space and currently looking to break into the industry with no prior tech experience. I joined this group because I’m serious about changing my career path and improving my financial and overall living situation for myself and my kids. I’m especially interested in tech because of the growth opportunities, stability, work-from-home potential, and the ability to create a better work/life balance. Right now, I’m leaning more toward the certification route instead of going the traditional 4+ year college path. I’ve been researching areas like cloud computing and cloud security, but I’m still very early in the process and trying to figure out the most realistic and smartest place to start. I’m open to any advice, suggestions, roadmaps, beginner cert recommendations, success stories, or things you wish you knew when starting out.
