Course management: Tee Box Club Selection par 4s: What basic framework for choosing what to hit off tee box on shorter par 4s? Background. Where I play there are many short Par 4s that you can take advantage of by hitting Diver or 3 Wood and getting your second shot inside 125 yards. I am confident in my driver, however feel as if it is best to start laying back and prioritizing hitting fairway, even if that means hitting 4i off the box and longer approach shots. But I am struggling with a framework to apply the decision making on the box. I know there are so many variables to consider, bunkers, pin location, risk/reward, how hitting it, etc. But finding myself indecisive on several tee boxes each round

Alright, scratch my previous comment/question - what I REALLY want to know is 🙂: What strategies, thoughts, or concepts can be used to “go low”? Or, in other words, lower than your best previous round or under par? Background. I’ve driven my handicap down from 8 to a 4. I’m getting closer to shooting par or better, but mentally struggling throughout the round when I am par or -1 under. I’m struggling to remain free and confident, and be comfortable with getting and staying under par. I’ve definitely created a “milestone” in my head about shooting under par or in the 60’s for the first time. Thanks!! 🙏
