🥏 Lead Arm Frisbee Throws 🥏
1️⃣ The Frisbee Throw Drill • The drill mimics the motion of throwing a frisbee with the lead arm. • Focus is placed on isolating and freeing the lead arm from the torso. • It trains hitters to feel the proper sequence of their swing while maintaining frontside direction. 2️⃣ Key Benefits • Promotes barrel control and a straighter swing path. • Helps hitters stay through the ball longer instead of cutting their swing off early. • Reinforces proper swing mechanics and minimizes early rotation. 3️⃣ Common Problem Hitters often get their lead arm stuck to their torso during the swing. This limits proper disassociation and causes them to pull off the ball, leading to an “around the ball” swing path instead of staying through the middle. 4️⃣ Importance of Disassociation Disassociating the lead arm from the trunk allows for better energy transfer and direction. This enables the barrel to work efficiently, delivering a clean and direct swing path through the middle of the field. 🔑 Key Benefits: • Promotes barrel control and a straighter swing path. • Helps hitters stay through the ball longer instead of cutting their swing off early. • Reinforces proper swing mechanics and minimizes early rotation. https://youtube.com/shorts/UTt5bhagp7Q?feature=shared

🔴 Heavy Balls 🔴
1️⃣ Strong at Contact: Heavy balls require more force to hit effectively, which means hitters need to engage their core and glutes fully to make solid contact. The extra resistance helps build strength in the muscles used at the point of contact, reinforcing their ability to maintain power and stability during a real swing. 2️⃣ Connection: Since heavy balls don’t travel as far as regular baseballs, they force hitters to maintain efficient mechanics and stay “connected” in their swing. If a hitter disconnects or flails, they won’t drive the heavy ball effectively. This feedback encourages hitters to deliver force from the correct parts of their body to create a unified and efficient swing. 3️⃣ Body Awareness and Stability: Hitting a heavy ball can reveal if a hitter loses balance or stability in their swing. It helps them recognize when they’re over-rotating or overextending, which can lead to inconsistencies. By maintaining a grounded and stable base through the drill, hitters develop better control over their movement patterns. 4️⃣ Improved Bat Path: Heavy balls help hitters stay through the zone longer, improving bat path. They reinforce the habit of driving through the ball, rather than pulling off or chopping down, promoting a smooth, efficient bat path. ✔️ Heavy Balls are a great investment if you have limited space and/or hitting by yourself at home. https://youtube.com/shorts/fXK6oB_RMXs?si=ZeZLaK7QsoTomgXs

📈 Stack Days 📈
Hitters, here’s some real talk: If you can commit to doing a little bit every single day, you will set yourself apart from your peers. I work with 100+ kids every month, and the hard truth is that most of them aren’t putting in the consistent effort it takes to truly succeed. If you’re in that 13–16 age range, now is the time to put your head down and work. Consistency over time widens the gap between you and your competition. Even on the days when you don’t feel like it, finding 20 minutes to do something—whether it’s hitting defense, strength, speed or mental training—makes a difference. Opportunities are earned, not given. Make it your daily mission to earn your next opportunity.
