I'm grateful to be in this group with the principles and aspirations Doug is advancing. (Other things, too, but I really am glad I met Doug...)
What Are You Building That Outlives You?
The average man spends his life maintaining someone else’s system. Clock in. Comply. Collapse. Repeat. But every so often, a man wakes up and realizes: The system doesn’t remember its keepers. It only remembers its builders. This week, I want you to name the one thing you’re building that outlives you. It could be: - A brand - A ritual - A system - A child who carries your discipline - A philosophy that will echo long after you’re gone Drop your answer in the comments. Then go deeper — what’s the next step that moves it from idea to artifact this week? We’re not here to “find balance.” We’re here to forge legacy. Post your legacy project below 👇Bonus points if you share a screenshot, sketch, or photo that makes it real.

Howdy, Doug & Everyone. My mission: to bring a fresh perspective to the social issues of men and boys, and how to address them in a smart and transformative way that builds on incentives rather than directives.

Thanks, Ajar. I guess it's okay to self-promote here, right? Please take a look at my books at jackkammer.com. Feedback welcome.
Biggest Challenge Right Now
What is the biggest challenge you are wrestling with right now? For my part, it has been juggling a new client I'm working with, keeping my podcast going and promoting this group. Please share your current challenges and your strategies for being effective when meeting challenges.

You are busy AND productive. For me it's trying to herd all the cats that are out there promising to make me a best-selling indy author but don't really have time to provide tech support or clarify what their chatbots are telling me. Sometimes I wonder if the cold, sterile, black boxes that are running our lives these days are a main source of the crankiness that is driving us all crazy with frustration and distrust. Coffee tonight?

@Jack Kammer @Ajar Mehmood @Kai Cerar Welcome to Second Life Leader ... I'm happy to have you here. Drop a post in 'Agora' and let us know where you are from and/or at right now + a goal you're working to achieve. My current goal is getting the Second Life Leader community up to 10 active daily users, so send out an invite to your friends who are also on a growth journey.

I'm working on finally getting around to trying to build what literary agents and publishers call a platform. Basically, it's how many followers you have and it's supposed to be an indication of how many people like what you say and write and might buy your book. I'm skeptical. The whole concept of followers and social media in general sorta kinda makes me queasy, gives me the willies. Could that possibly be because I was born in 1951 and grew up in a world where you had to demonstrate some curatorial judgement before you got a microphone or an empty page to put "content" in or on. That's another thing. Styrofoam is content. I like it when content is more like what it used to be called... actual material. So I'm thinking of biting the bullet and giving social media much more attention it deserves. A necessary evil these days. Can anyone feel my pain? And help me get some gain from the pain?

@Doug Utberg thanks, Doug. It's a book for boys and young men 13-23.
⚔️ Holding the Line – 9/21
Situation: I'm pushing to lose the last 5-10lbs of fat mass between me and my goal. Wins: protein + calories on target for the last 4 days: chicken + salmon carried the load. Stayed clean, minimal mass produced junk. Losses: got behind on prep, so ended up scrambling Next: budget time to food prep so I don't need to call an audible so often One brick at a time, but the wall’s going up.

Lo-carb has worked to get me to where my doctor wanted. The notoriously hard part of lo-carb is sustaining it. A product that has helped: Hero Seeded Bread. (no financial interest here)
