Turns out the academics are a lap behind us.
Had a call today with researchers from Stanford's Autonomous Agents Lab. They're studying AI adoption at marketing agencies. Found me via Google. I asked them how much research they did on me first, none; they were embarrassed to say they just filled out my contact form. I warned them it might not be the conversation they expect. At the end, they said I was the most advanced agency owner they'd spoken with. They'd never heard of ICM. These are smart people doing real research. They've talked to a lot of agencies. And the most common thing they see is: people using ChatGPT chat, maybe dabbling with agents, struggling to get them to do things reliably end-to-end. You all know what I've been running for the past 2 months and I showed them. Then the researchers showed me their own tool — an autonomous browser agent that can log into Google Ads and act. I told them: I don't write to external platforms without a human reviewing it first. That's a policy, not a technical limitation. My clients' $20K/month runs through my judgment, not an AI's. Human in the LOOP! Their reaction: "that makes sense." But they were clearly used to hearing "I'm trying to get the AI to do more." I'm not. I'm trying to get the AI to help me reason better. That's a different goal. My takeaway: if you're in this group and you're here honestly learning, you're way ahead, don't stop! Keep building! Ronnie Coleman once said: "Everybody wants to be a bodybuilder, but nobody wants to lift no heavy-ass weights."

Revamping my company focus, site rebuild. Thoughts, please.
I rebuilt my site today with the focus on folders over agents. It's geared toward providing the workflows for businesses. Not sure if this is allowed here, but I'm sharing anyway. Take it down if it breaks any rules. So many great minds here, so I thought it was worth risking criticism or advice on how to improve. Perhaps it will give you ideas for your own site. First off big congrats Greg, Looks solid as an idea. I would focus on making to more visually appealing creating contrast so the eye focuses where yo want them to go (find references on pinterest) and also use output language so that the audience that doesn't really understand the ICM/ Van clief frameworks can understand how it will benefit them
Anyone else failing to sleep

About first client
Greetings everyone: Just passing by to talk about my first client interaction. It was not as expected, but quite a learning experience. First of all, I jumped right into working without talking about price (first error) and then, i solved a big problem for my client: his webpage had a lot of trouble, and he is an AI enthuciast and tryed to fix it himself. I did an excelent job and manage to get score 100 on SEO that was his first issue. Also was built on wordpress and had a lot of pluggins and the webpage was not responsive. In the way i found that he had a italian hacker (at least the IP said so) and belive it or not, the hacker made a admin acount and noone noticed for a whole year. Also he added malicious malware on the base. I rebuild the website. It took me about 5 days of work and charged about 600 bucks for all. I noticed he had payed a chatbot, a good one chilean startup and payed 200 bucks for it monthly. The website sold almost 0 on the last 3 months. He also hired a digital marketing agency for 1000 bucks for managing google ads and meta ads. I also noticed they were doing a horrible job. I proposed him charging him half of the price they were charging to make an Agentic solution for it, a good one. Also on the way i made my own chatbot using LangGraph and Gemini, even offered product with a picture or audio! Im proud of it. The thing is even thou i demostrated my skills with AI and my speed, he offered me crums: only a comition payed when the website started selling (almost 100% of the sales are non web) and ofered me very very little money for % of sales. He sent me the offer today (17 days since i started working with him). I spoke with him and he was sure it was a good offer and also asured me there were no other way. They had no intentions on making me an AI Partner. I just sent him a backoffer refusing the sales % and offering good AI products that are still a win win for both of us. I feel kinda relieved because at some point i considered the offer. I spoke with my good pal Claude and review everything in detail and made a detailed auditory about the digital marketing agency.
