Too many fake philosophers
Philosophy is great, and I'm pretty sure that we can agree on that, but it is being misinterpreted by many. Now I'm nobody to talk, and you can go look at my replies to normal posts: they are braindead and make no sense; they are literally just signalling "I'm 14 and this is deep", but I feel as if I have been enlightened to what philosophy really is about. Today, I watched a lecture on the introduction to philosophy, and it was as if my third eye had been opened (in terms of what philosophy is actually about). The thing I learned from it is that philosophy isn't just sitting and thinking like I used to think it is; it's about seeking knowledge, through ways such as observation or using logic to come to conclusions, for the purpose of building better habits, habits that will further propel you to seek more knowledge for the same purpose, but, more importantly, making you feel a certain way. Philosophy is restricted to humans because only humans can build habits for the purpose of "feeling a certain way", as only humans have long-term emotions and the longing to feel joy. Meanwhile, animals only have instinct and don't have the drive to feel long lasting joy. Bottom line: philosophy is the ability to use natural reason, which is the ability to reason, or think logically, form conclusions, and make inferences, only given to humans (given to us by who? You decide, but I believe it's God) about objective truths, which WILL make us feel joy knowing how things work and what to do, without some divine or supernatural forces acting upon you. It is NOT asking what everything is or is made by/up of, and it is NOT trying to sound deep. Please tell me how I can improve in my understanding, if you want to. Otherwise, I'll get back to my lectures.
