My Gifts of Mine to Me Aahh, it was time for my afternoon rest, meditation, music and relaxation. Snuggling down in my warm blankets I found a warm sweet spot of personal well-being. After a few deep breaths and long sighs, I found a comforting tone of self compassion as I blessed my body. Suddenly a huge wave washed over me, an emotional impact so real and true and deep seem to gush from within me and engulf me. Tears began streaming down my face as I openly said and declared, “ I love you so much Iris, I love you so much, I really do love you so much.” I suddenly realized then no one could ever love me more, understand me more, or know my inner workings more, love and cherish me more, than my precious inner self. It was as if I was infused with the profound realization that I alone deeply know and love myself more than anyone else ever could and it was absolutely freeing. I love my passion for truth, justice, human rights and equality that always burn so intensely and eternally. I love my depths of inner knowing, the clarity of my intentions, the stability of my self trust, the joy of my curiosity, seeking and sense of discovery and learning my genuine love of comedy and human dysfunctional humor combined with personal growth. I alone intimately treasure the deep inner workings of my mind, heart and soul. My love of truth and freedom then seem to transform all external petty judgmental nonsense somehow. It was like a ton of nonsensical noise from my past melted away as my inner truth blossomed. I took a few deep breaths and got up to blow my nose. My sense of comic relief then kicked in as I said out loud “It's not my fault you're so darned wonderful Irie.” I started laughing happily as I mopped up my face. My sense of childlike wonder felt joyfully renewed. I felt deeply grateful to know that I know my depths more, my inner workings more, that I love and understand myself more than anyone else ever could and it was immensely freeing! I began to think about all of the compassionate tears I have shed for my parents, my children, my grandparents and siblings, my animals, neighbors, friends, lovers, partners and strangers.
