Student Loans - TransUnion
@Ali Badi Apologies as my phone died before the Q and A last night. I have a question that I'm hoping you or another expert from the community can answer. I know someone who has paid a credit rep to remove an open student loan acct with several late payments from TransUnion. After several attempts, no luck. The balance is a little over 4K and the acct is 25 years old. It is his oldest acct. If it was in good standing, would look great on his report when getting personal funding. If I get Metro2 for this, can I attack the late payments only, keeping the acct and he pay the balance or do you suggest removing completely? I'm new so trying to understand options before purchasing the software.

@Rashunda Owens I need to look into his report before i answer you for that question. Its depends how many late payments that he has right now.

@Rashunda Owens After reviewing the account, it shows 8 months of no payment in 2025 along with multiple months marked as “unknown” payment history (Nov–Dec 2019, Jan–Feb 2020, Feb 2024, Jun 2024, Nov–Dec 2024). Because the payment history is incomplete and inaccurately reported, focusing only on removing late payments would not be effective. The best and strongest approach is to dispute the entire account for deletion, as lenders are required to report complete, accurate, and verifiable information. We will challenge this account as inaccurate and unverifiable, which gives the highest chance of removal and a meaningful score improvement.
