Welcome to Think Like a Surveyor
I’m really glad you’re here. This community was created for hospice and home health professionals who want more than checklists and quick fixes. It’s for those who want to understand how decisions are actually made and how to feel steady and confident long before a survey, audit, or review ever happens. Inside Think Like a Surveyor, we’ll focus on: - How surveyors and medical reviewers truly think - What matters most in documentation—and what doesn’t - How to connect clinical judgment with regulatory expectations - How to reduce compliance stress without overworking yourself or your team This is a safe space to learn, ask questions, and strengthen your thinking. There’s no fear-based compliance here, and no pressure to “perform.” Just practical guidance, real-world examples, and steady support. To start, I’d love for you to introduce yourself in the comments: - Your role - Your setting (hospice, home health, leadership, QA) - One thing you’d love to feel more confident about when it comes to compliance or documentation Thank you for being here. You’re in the right place. — Irene

A quick note about me, so you know who’s holding this space. I’m Irene—an RN with years of experience across hospice care, leadership, compliance, and survey readiness. I’ve worked bedside, in management, and in regulatory roles, including reviewing records through a surveyor’s lens. I created Think Like a Surveyor because I saw too many good clinicians second-guess themselves or document out of fear instead of clarity. My goal here is simple: help you build confidence, think clearly, and understand what truly matters—so compliance feels supportive, not overwhelming. I’m really glad you’re here.
