Bloodwork is life changing. Big claim. But I stand by it whole heartedly. In myself, my famly members and my clients I have witnessed the power of KNOWING what the body needs, and the power of tracking specfic condtions to see how they improve. Bloodwork allows you to assess every organ system that has blood supply - which is ALL of them. It validates why you may feel a certain way and reveals aspects of your health where "dormant potential" lay. Because, if you're here and part of this commnity you know the importance of health. But being "healthy" looks very different for you than it does for me. Your ancestors are from a different places, your parents gave you differnt genetic codes, and over the course of your life your body has been exposed to many differnt stressors, climates, experiences, illnesses, injuries and substances - which makes you extremely unique. You are 1 of 1. And the best way to understand your uniqueness from a physiology stand point is with bloodwork. But. But. But. But. But.... Getting blood tests done and getting answers from those tests are two very different things. Becuase you've most likely done bloodwork in the past with your GP or a specialist. However, and unfortunately, the way "conventional" medicine looks at bloodwork is outdated and reductionistic. The "conventional" model uses refference ranges to measure your "health", and looks at the results in a black or white manner. Your markers are either out of the reference range (high or low). Or they are within the refference range ("normal"). If they are high or low; you are prescibed a medication or sent to a specilaist - only to stay trapped on the modern medicine hamster wheel of "smoke and mirrors" care. If your markers within range you are considered "normal" and you're sent on your way with nothing but a consultation date 6 months into the future. But "normal" compared to who, and compared to what? Well I'm glad you asked.... The "conventional" ranges are based on averages taken from the people getting blood tests done.
