x2 credit cards and x2 checking accounts
Capital One and BOFA were the first two accounts I opened. I applied for checking accounts at both banks, and they each offered me my first credit card. I accepted the offer from C1, but I haven’t accepted the one from BOFA yet. My checking account at C1 gave me a Discover debit card, but a Mastercard credit card. At one point, C1 asked me to complete a security verification using my state ID. When I spoke with the risk manager, I explained clearly but politely that my only form of identification was my passport, so he accepted that and sent me a link to complete the verification. Since then, I haven’t had any problems with C1. I've had my ITIN for two years, but I've never applied for an account or a card—until now. In other words, without a credit history. I've never been to the U.S., and I'm from Costa Rica.

New ITINner Got The 1st Credit Card of C1
My parent applied for a new ITIN at the end of last year. She has no credit history and only has a Wise account. Today, I pre-tested it with my own C1 credit card refer link and got pre-approved. Three cards appeared as shown in the picture. Then, they asked us to upload the ITIN and passport. There are basically no more problems. We are just waiting for the final card to arrive! Updating:After 3 biz days,Got the original credit line with 500usd,with no credit HISTORY,the opening is OKAY?!Settle down the OnlineBanking via the email link from Capital One

Banks That Can Approve You Without a Hard Pull
Most people still think every credit card approval starts with a hard inquiry. Not always. The biggest win is knowing which issuers let you see a decision through a soft-pull before you fully commit. Banks to focus on: 1. Apple Card • Bureau: TransUnion • You can see the decision (with limit) before accepting. 2. Citizens Bank • Bureau: Experian • Pre-qualification uses a soft pull first. 3. BMO • Bureau: TransUnion • Soft-pull pre-approval patterns show up often (especially existing customers). 4. AmEx (Apply With Confidence) • You can check if you’re approved before the hard pull finalizes. • First personal AmEx may hard pull. • Additional cards are often soft-pull heavy for existing profiles. The timing play that matters most: 1. Keep credit files unfrozen 2. Run the soft-pull pre-approval 3. Get the decision (sometimes with limit shown) 4. Freeze your reports 5. Wait ~5 minutes 6. Return and accept the offer Sometimes a hard pull posts, sometimes it doesn’t - but this sequence is where people are seeing the best soft-pull outcomes. How Cloud Residents should use this • Don’t rush into random applications. • Start with issuers that show approval before commitment. • Prioritize soft-pull-first applications. • Apply in a controlled order, not emotionally. Smart sequencing beats blind applying every time. See you in comments, Ain - Cloud Resident

Basic US banking for Digital Nomads
There are was post which was there about Credit card Ultimate end game. I am doing reverse. I want to post what is basic financial ecosystem for Digal Nomads. In my opion this is basic financial ecosystem which some one shoud aim. This depends upon - Country of Identity : Normally Passport of your country. - Country of Residence : This determines your taxations. Remember taxation is normally not on Identity. it depends upon your residence address - Apply ITIN if you donot have or Apply SSN if you travel on long term visa like L1 , H1 etc . What You should aim for : 1. Wise Account 2. Charles Schwabs Brokerage : this is excellent it gives you almost complete US banking and brokergae except Zelle and Bill Pay and credit cards. provided your country of identity is allowed without ITIN or SSN 3. Any major banks checking account. There are 4000+ Banks and CU. I feel Bank of America is very good basic bank for any digital nomad. Provided you are able to open in any of your visit to US (physical visit to branch). This is practically not possible online. But if you get one visit to anywhere is US you can get Checking account and CC (which never gets closed) in future. and no further visit to US is required. I know one of my friend who has BOFA account from 2000 and not in US for last 20 years. Mantain $500 in account and you are in their ecosystem practicaly for life. You can put non US address (accepts W8BEN). They can ship debit card outside US. Fantastic for any digital nomad. The interst income NEVERS gets reported as 1099 to IRS if you submitted W8BEN and no taxation. If you play smart yo get SUB for $500 and thus account is free for life. 4. Interactive Brokers : Account. They do provide very competetive rates for Stocks and ETF. One of the biggest advantage with IBKR is they have very good fills (un controlled liquidity for stocks and ETF). Very good linkage with wise and you can trasfer wire to place of your residence almost free. 5. Capital One Credit Card: Last in your basic ambitions. Bit difficult to open online or without much of credit history but possible. Very strict with ITIN holders (Credit card Almost gets closed with ITIN but not always). Also there charter donot allow Non US addres. The interst income gets reported as 1099 to IRS.
