Everyday I have to remind myself that practicing self-improvment is spiritual work, going through the days doing my 'core' things is part of the practice. Days I struggle doesn't mean I'm back where I started. There are days where nothing happens, no productivity or success, and thats called balance. As long as I can recieve it, I must take my time. My tree must root before it sprouts, and must sprout before it can fruit. And fruit and flower is a lot of energy. Energy taken from all around, so knowing where to root and when to uproot is key. Knowing when its time to shed leaves, go dormant, and weather the cold to have energy for the next spring is vital. And any amount, every penny, every .01%. Progress is progress. No matter how slow.

One day, during middle school years, one of my teachers had us make a jar. I forgot the entire point, but I remember wanting to preserve fall. I love it, as well as winter. But especially since I live in the South, fall is much easier to preserve in the fall. I picked up my favorite kind of leaves and things and tossed them in, closed the jar, and painted what's supposed to be representation of flame and fall; embers and dark leaves. Its very derpy haha I haven't, since, opened it. Its been at least 7 years. I kept it all this time because something about it was special. More special than the contents, as I could make 20 of these without blinking. But it gave me a similar feeling, I realized recently, that my long-since-made spell jar gave me; I don't want to just get rid of you.. maybe use you? But I had no reason, then, to think of using dead, partly molded leaves. But now im wondering... Wonderin aside, I just thought its a cute lil thing ill show :3 i prolly will make another someday. I wanted to do all 4 seasons but there's really only 2 where I live lol. Fall and spring are just prerequisites 😭 and I also felt if I made more, my mother would inevitably put her negative energies on them and I'm so serious about energies. Especially anything in my spaces 🤺 I do think this is like... One whispered sentence away from being a proper spell jar, of what spell idk, but i just find it cute

So I've heard that magic is all about intention, which is the fine line before self gain, and so on. What I'm trying to understand is... Idk how best to put it so I'll give my line of thoughts. There are spells. There are potions. There are spells that come with potions. Intent drives a spell but there's also ways to not do things right? At least that's my understanding of things. Intuitive spells do exist, i know. Do potions? Is there really a 'wrong' to it or is it really all down to awareness and intent? As there are some spells I want to do intuitively, but they come with parts, like potions, i can't make currently and considered making a spell of my own under the same purposes and just make sure I can cover the bases.. Also when does a spell become 'done'? Like I know some spells are mostly the process but for those... Are you safe to discard what's been used right away? Should it rest a bit? If the spell has no physical product (like a jar), only a result?
