One more cozy treat to have on hand
After countless requests from friends, I've finally dropped my old fashioned Oatmeal Cookie recipe on YouTube. These are the ultimate Oatmeal Cookies that are chewy, crispy-edged, that can be sized just the way you like them. These bad boys have been my secret weapon for years—perfect for snack attacks, family gatherings, or just treating yourself. If you are an oatmeal cookie enthusiast, what's your go-to add-in for oatmeal cookies? Raisins, chocolate chips, nuts, or something wild like cranberries? I've added raisins, chocolate chips and even butterscotch chips, but my favorite is just plain Jane.

@Lisa Z yes! They are a little bit addictive. That's why I have to bake then in very small batches.
Ready for Christmas?
It seems everywhere we look people are scrambling to knock out that list of gifts and to do's. While at church this morning, I heard multiple people talking about all of the Christmas events they "have to" attend over the next week. It was stressing me out FOR them. So, I'm just checking in on our people. How are you doing?

I JUST finished my shopping this afternoon and just need to pick up the usual groceries for the week. So, I'm probably in the best position for Christmas that I have experienced in years. It turns out, when you greatly simplify the agendas, you don't really miss it. You just get to truly enjoy it. I spent last night watching my grandson react to the Festival of Lights at a local farm. Sweetest evening ever.

@Lisa Z lights and tractors! All boy
Just talked myself down...
You are looking at the proud face of a woman who opted for the healthier and more frugal option of clementines that were in her cooler rather than caving to the roadtrip junk food options she wanted.

@Lisa Z For me the big key is simply being prepared. If I had not packed that cooler, my temptations would have been much worse.
What's cooking?
Last night I thought I was getting ahead for Christmas Day and whipped up a batch of sausage balls from scratch. Only, it has been a log time since I've made them or even had them. They smelled so good that I could not help myself. I had one, then two, then..."Oh heck, I'll make another batch for Christmas. We are eating them now!" What holiday treats are you eating today or eagerly anticipating?

@Mike Gagnon! You've got to share that recipe. I love pecan pie (homemade only)!

@Des Dreckett they are a mixture of a bread dough, sharp cheddar cheese and ground sausage that are baked. They are hearty and delicious. A southern U.S. favorite around the holidays (especially with so many sweets around).
Looking for an Especially Frugal Gift for Christmas?
I just uploaded a new video today that is a 'recipe' for a special gift idea for a little one. As grandparents around the holidays, it is so tempting to go overboard. But we have our marching orders from our children. I wanted to create something that would grow my relationship with my grandson and be a blessing for my daughter's peace of mind. My grandson LOVES books, so the next best thing to reading with him in person is to read with him "to infinity and beyond". For as long as Youtube exists, he will have my voice and my silly face reading stories to him. The best part is that I can keep adding to the collection in the months ahead.

@Lisa Z I did consider making a public channel but with copyright laws and strikes and drama that I don't need, decided to just make it private. Then I can also make videos of my grandson for him to see. I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that publicly.
