Should I learn Go, Neo Vim, and a split keyboard now?
Hey everyone! 👋 Context: I’m in my first month as a fullstack developer. At my current job, we’re working on a project with this stack: • Database: SQL Server • Backend: Node.js + Express • Frontend: React Native • All in TypeScript I don’t use Go at work, so everything I’m planning to learn will be outside of working hours. I’m planning to: 1. Learn Go 2. Learn Neo Vim 3. Learn typing on a split keyboard (Moonlander or Voyager) for more layers and productivity I chose this path because I think 1–1.5 years in, this combo will be a strong skill set. But I’m hesitant because of AI code generation, code writing isn’t that great yet, and I’m not sure if investing in a Moonlander/Voyager now is worth it. Question: Is it a good idea to go for this path (Go + Neo Vim + split keyboard) right now, or is it better to wait / focus on other things first? Please answer in bullet points covering: • Starting to learn Go • Starting to learn Neo Vim • Learning to type on a Moonlander or Voyager I’d really appreciate your take on whether this is a good thing to do or not!
