If you're on social media for your business (not just dinner and weekend updates 😆), you get the most traction in the DMs. Direct messages eliminate the distraction of all the other stuff in the feed. Your videos that are posted in the feed should motivate your target audience to have a conversation with YOU. But most people that are leveraging the InMail and direct messages on LinkedIn or the DMs on FB are just writing a copy/paste message or something that doesn't inspire anyone to open them. What if you sent micro-videos in the DMs? These can be a recorded video or your online stunt double that stands out in their inbox. 1. 𝘾𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙭𝙩𝙧𝙖 𝙢𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨-Take out the part where you’re reaching for the phone. Start right where you begin talking. Then cut the end of the video so we don't see you turning your camera off. You can also edit out that CapCut logo at the end. It keeps the video focused and feels more intentional. 2. 𝙐𝙨𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨-Turn on Auto Captions so people can follow along even if their sound is off. Double check the words so everything reads the way you said it. You can change the color of the captions, the font and use the animate tool to make them more engaging. 3. 𝙆𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙨𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚-You don’t need a bunch of effects. One or two transitions make your video easier to watch and gets people to watch longer.

𝙎𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙖 “𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙣’ 𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡” 𝙫𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙤- Show how your brand shows up in real life. It could be a short highlight reel of client work, quick before-and-after edits if you do editing as a service, or a testimonial that proves results.When people see what you do, they move faster to learn more. 5. and suddenly it’s 2am? That’s not an accident. It’s strategy. The same thing applies to your videos. When someone watches one of your videos and then immediately clicks another, you’ve hit what I call the binge zone. If you’re up for it, create a 3-part video series. Use these prompts in ChatGPT to map it out: Prompt 1:“I want to create a 3-part video series on [your topic]. Give me an outline for each video that builds curiosity and keeps viewers wanting to see the next one.” Prompt 2:“Write a short hook for part 1 that grabs attention and clearly sets up what’s coming next.” Prompt 3:“Give me transition ideas for the end of each video that naturally lead into the next one.” As always, once it gives you the output for a prompt give it more clarification, have it ask you for more detail or revise to meet your goal and sound like you. We all record video on our phones. But have you actually looked at the settings? One of the settings that can impact the quality is 𝙛𝙧𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚. Basically your frame rate is how many individual pictures (frames) make up one second of your video. Your phone is probably set to 30 FPS by default. Totally fine for most videos, but if you’ve ever wondered why Hollywood movies look smoother or more “cinematic,” it’s because they’re usually filmed at 24 FPS. That setting gives motion a more natural, human feel, like what your eyes expect to see. Want to record something in slow motion? You’re going to want up to 60 FPS (or higher). Then, when you slow it down during editing, you get that super smooth effect without it looking choppy. (Fun fact: soap operas are filmed at 60 FPS too, which is why they look so different.) ***Quick tip: Open your phone → Settings → Camera → Look for “Frame Rate.” You’ll usually see options like 24, 30, or 60 FPS right at the top. If you’re using 4K 60 FPS on an iPhone, just know it might look a little choppy depending on your lighting or movement. Next time you hit record, ask yourself what vibe you’re going for: 🎥 Cinematic = 24 FPS 🎬 Standard = 30 FPS 🐢 Smooth slow motion = 60 FPS+ Small adjustment. Big difference.
