Updated script for the cheetah video 🐆
Hey hey! Came back here with an updated script. Looking forward to your thoughts. Tried to keep it short and sweet - not too emotional but still real. ~ What wildlife conservation looks like sometimes: The most powerful thing I witnessed as a volunteer was this. Tracking big cats sounds all fun and games. Until you no longer know who you’re rooting for. This is Nashipae — and I spend over 5 hours in her shadow, waiting to see if she’s gonna eat today or not. She did. I found myself cheering when I saw from a distance she finally made her catch. And then, we got closer, and my heart stopped. Joy turned to dread in a split second when I saw the gazelle give out her last kicks. Nature doesn’t sugar coat anything. It’s raw and beautiful and heartbreaking sometimes — One life continues, one ends and I still don’t know who to root for. ~

Nice script! The story is really coming across now, and it’s a good length for reels. The most important thing now is to have a strong verbal hook at the beginning, with that shot of the cheetah holding the gazelle, with the zoom. Your goal is to grab people and stop them scrolling, so you need to make them feel something. “What wildlife conservation looks like sometimes: The most powerful thing I witnessed as a volunteer was this.” ➔These are good but let’s make them a little more dramatic. Some hooks that could work: - This is the hardest thing I’ve ever filmed - Today I witnessed a murder - This is the dark side of wildlife conservation - This is what the BBC won’t show you Feel free to write more hooks of your own, but try to make them short and powerful. Ok, now the rest of the script. “Tracking big cats sounds all fun and games. Until you no longer know who you’re rooting for.” ➔ Very good. Tweak for grammar: ‘Tracking big cats sounds like fun and games’ “This is Nashipae — and I spend over 5 hours in her shadow, waiting to see if she’s gonna eat today or not.” ➔ Shorten this “She did.” ➔ Try not to spoil the ending. [𝘔𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘶𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨] “I found myself cheering when I saw from a distance she finally made her catch. And then, we got closer, and my heart stopped. Joy turned to dread in a split second when I saw the gazelle give out her last kicks.” ➔ Great personal touch. “Nature doesn’t sugar coat anything. It’s raw and beautiful and heartbreaking sometimes — One life continues, one ends, and I still don’t know who to root for.” ➔ Nice ending. This is how I would write the script myself: “This is the hardest thing I’ve ever filmed. Tracking big cats sounds like fun and games, until you no longer know who you’re rooting for. I spent 5 hours following Nashipaye, waiting to see if she would eat today. When she finally made the catch, I cheered. Then we got closer. Joy turned to dread in a split second as the gazelle gave her last kicks.
Instagram reels lagging
Hi all! I don’t make reels very often but would like to investigate my potential here on Instagram - however everytime I am editing a video (whether directly in Instagram, or when imported by making it first in, for instance, CapCut) my Insta / the video is lagging quite a bit - up to the point where editing becomes basically impossible. Especially after adding subtitles… ai have the latest version of Instagram installed. Anyone who has been here before and knows what could be the issue? Technicalities!!! All help is welcome - thanks ☺️!

@Manon de Visser Yes that's with the Pro subscription. With video making you do have to invest some $$ to get the most out of the tools, but if you make a lot of videos then I think Capcut is worth it. For now you can do a 30 free trial though https://www.capcut.com/u/g30
