The most important thing now is to have a strong verbal hook at the beginning, with that shot of the cheetah holding the gazelle, with the zoom. Your goal is to grab people and stop them scrolling, so you need to make them feel something. “What wildlife conservation looks like sometimes: The most powerful thing I witnessed as a volunteer was this.” ➔These are good but let’s make them a little more dramatic. Some hooks that could work: - This is the hardest thing I’ve ever filmed - Today I witnessed a murder - This is the dark side of wildlife conservation - This is what the BBC won’t show you Feel free to write more hooks of your own, but try to make them short and powerful. Tweak for grammar: ‘Tracking big cats sounds like fun and games’ “This is Nashipae — and I spend over 5 hours in her shadow, waiting to see if she’s gonna eat today or not.” ➔ Shorten this “She did.” ➔ Try not to spoil the ending.
