Why healing matters
Too often we recreate the injuries of our childhoods, in our spouses and in our kids.

Whoaaa… that is so true
Anyone know what myth this is a version of?
If you’ve watched the free course in here you might be able to tell which myth is being perpetuated by this little sign. Do you know?

Grieve alone…. But man this is a double edged sword with kids it’s so hard to work through emotions with them. So I so often try to get them away from me before I lose it. Thanks for the challenge here.
The biggest challenge
The biggest challenge any of us have is the belief that we’re not supposed to have any. Challenges, call us to grow and become who we’re meant to be. The only people who have no challenges are in cemeteries, in other words, challenges are a sign of life.

Amen!
Guarding our hearts
One important but often missing piece when it comes to guarding our hearts is finding/creating relationships in which our hearts are not on guard. Hearts can get hardened when they never have a place to take off their armor.

So good! I needed to hear this and be reminded of this!
This really matters
What really matters is whether our kids feel our interest without feeling our agenda. Kids are good at sensing when connection is a strategy. When curiosity is a technique. When warmth has a goal attached to it. We all want our kids to be open to and with us. They don’t open up because we said the right thing. They open up because they felt genuinely seen. No correction waiting on the other side. No agenda. Just — I want to know you. It’s such a hard part of parenting. And also extremely important.
