Pick it up, have a proper look at it, put it on the page. Small things are the easiest place to start, because there's less of it to get wrong. ✨ 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁? Draw it three times on the same page, turning it a little each time, so you see it from three sides. 👉 Also in the classroom here: ❤️ 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 👇 The whole page, a tiny piece of it, or just type "done" if you're not ready to show it ❤️ ❤️ All count. @Lucie Corriveau Thank you, lovely. I was so happy to find this tiny, pretty shell. I've never seen anything like this on that beach in all the years of going, so it felt like something I needed to record 😍

@Mike VanLeuken This is great, Mike. You've done really well getting the perspective and depth of the ring, and the detail of the hand. The ring nestles really nicely into the palm. ❤️ Great work! Thanks for sharing it ❤️
Strange creatures
As a warm up exercise I often close my eyes and let the pen go wild on the page. Then I try to find something among the scribbles. These guys emerged this morning

Oh, I love this @Declan Gleeson ! It's such a great way to wake up your creative brain!. I think that's amazing. It's almost like automatic drawing. These are great. I used to really love making squiggly lines and then colouring in the shapes that emerged. I just learned recently from a member that that's called neurographic Drawing, which I'd never heard of before, but it's kind of along the same lines. I guess this is literally what the creativity of our brain looks like at its very base level!!.😮 It's so fascinating. I love your idea of finding whats in there and letting them emerge from it. Absolutely brilliant ❤️ !!

@Declan Gleeson Yes, and that is an important thing to do. I think ❤️ 😍

✨ 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆'𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘁: 𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘄 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗲. 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗿𝘂𝗯𝗯𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁 or removed 😊 😊 The wonky line stays. 😊 The wrong-sized handle stays. 😊 The bit you'd normally scribble over stays. That's two weeks of turning up now. 🎉 Huge well done! The rubbing out is something that can really get in the way of enjoyment and cause perfectionist stress, so today we just don't 😊😊😊 And don't worry about it. 😊 Every line is fine. ❤️ "𝙒𝙚 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙨. I've also done a very quick drawing, not lifting the pen off the paper. My trusty desk plant, always good for drawing 😆

@Declan Gleeson Give it a go.😍 It's really good because it forces you to look closely at the subject, as your brain is trying to figure out your next move, so you can't just make it up [as i often do😆]. When I did my art foundation course, the guy who ran it always made us do this exercise a LOT, and I think it's really good for developing your looking skills. Mine looks like a squashed spider 😆, but Archisha's done a really elegant illustrative one, so it is just a really good thing to try And see what comes out, but the important thing is the looking ❤️ .
🔥 NEW in the Printable Vault 🐦 Tiny Birds & Berries Pages
When I did my art foundation course, we were all handed a sketchbook at the start of the year. It quickly became a bit competitive. You'd see what everyone else was doing and think, "mine isn't as good as theirs!!" I got blank page paralysis. 😱 Some days I was so worried about what to put on the page that I couldn't put anything at all. 😔 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙜𝙤𝙩 𝙢𝙚 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙡𝙮𝙨𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙞𝙣. A piece of brown paper, something torn out of a magazine, anything. Once something was on the page, it wasn't blank anymore, and I could just add to it. That sketchbook ended up really fat and full of interesting things! I still do it now, and that's why I make these. 🍂 - - - - - - - - - - 𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗬 𝗕𝗜𝗥𝗗𝗦 & 𝗕𝗘𝗥𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗦 𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗘 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗶𝘅 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸. Each one is a two-page spread with its own little woodland friend: 🦔 A sleepy hedgehog curled up in the leaves 🐦 A robin in the holly, with a tiny nest 🍓 Rosehips with a robin and a wren 🍂 Red berries with a wren 🐭 Berries and rosehips with a little mouse 🌸 Spindle berries with a dormouse tucked up for winter Write over them, draw on them, chop them up for collage. However you use them, the page is never blank. In the video I'm gluing one into my sketchbook so you can see how easy it is. - - - - - - - - - - 🎁 𝗔 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝟰𝟴 𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗦 🚨 The sleepy autumn hedgehog paper is yours to download right now, whatever plan you're on: 👉 Download your free page here. @Kim Hayes Hi lovely, please check your DMs.❤️ I've tried to message you the file directly there, so hopefully that works and you can download it there.❤️ It'd be really helpful if you can send me a screenshot of what's happening when you try to download it in the main area as well, so I can make sure there's no problem there and troubleshoot 😍 you never know with tech what's glitching.🙄😍 Thank you 🙏 😍
