Help wanted 😅
Hey up people. I need some help. Are there anyone that can help me out with some basic/basic+ fundamental/technique drills to teach kids how to run/sprint. My team of 9 - 11 year old kids have a few that lack basic running skills. The majority of them can run/sprint good enough, but nothibg wrong with helping them get even better at it.

@Lexis Nicdao all good drills. We're doing curved sprints, "L" sprints/cuts, zigzags etc, but my problem is I have 3 kids that lack the ability to sprint. When they run or sprint it sounds like they're slapping books on the floor. They need to learn the basics to running basically, and some just need to improve their technique. Thank you for your reply tho. Much appreciated.

OPEN GYM HOURS: How To Structure Team Practices?
Coach @Mark Jess Bernaldez asked a very good question on how to structure practices with limited time constraints Key takeaways: ✅ Break it into thirds – 30 min skills, 30 min offense/defense, 30 min scrimmage ✅ Let them play – players learn better by making mistakes, not listening to lectures ✅ Find your leaders – every team has sheep (lost players) and sheepdogs (leaders). Give them space to step up Coaches, how do you structure your practices? Drop your thoughts below! 👇🔥

I have 75 minutes twice a week with my kids teams with 60 minutes being the effective training session. 30 minutes skills/handles/offense/defense followed by 20 minutes game time (down from 30) and ending it with 10 minutes of 1v1 or 2v1 offense or defense for quick desicion making.

@Phillip Morrison good question. It depends who we're up against. If we're facing teams with equal skills then I'd say we're struggling with making the right reads under pressure, but if we're facing more skilled players then I'd say both. It's getting better as I've conditioned them to play through contact, but a few of them still struggle with that confidence to seek contact with players because they don't have that explosiveness to blow by defenders. Is why I made the post with help wanted. Some of them need to learn (from scratch) how to run and some need to improve. Hope this makes sense 😅

@Alan Robertson it truly is. Having kids who grow up sharing the same interests in sports and spending time outside is the best.
Fun at camps.
Just finished a 3day basketballcamp where both my kids attended. Fun and engaging for everyone that came. Ages from 6 - 13. So fun to see a growing interest in the game of basketball in my town and where I live. I was taken in as a part of the team of coaches even tho I'm not a member of their club. Both of my kids learned a lot as did I and we're going back during easter. Much love and respect to all of you that bring joy, confidence and love into the game of basketball. Keep up the good work.
