@Lana McAra I would be honored!
@Lana McAra Very cool! I think one of the best things about being a writer is not always the stories we share but the spark those stories create in others. Look forward to learning how your idea evolves.
WRITING ALLOWS US TO BECOME MORE THAN WE ARE.
“Writing permits me to be more than I am. Writing permits me to experience life as any number of strange creations.” — Alice Weber Isn't that one of the most wonderful things about being a writer? Through our words, we can travel to places we've never visited, live lives we've never imagined, and see the world through someone else's eyes. We can become adventurers, historians, dreamers, teachers, or storytellers. We can explore the past, imagine the future, and give voice to people and possibilities that exist only in our imaginations. And even when we're writing nonfiction, something remarkable happens. We discover new perspectives, challenge our own thinking, and sometimes learn as much about ourselves as we hope to teach our readers. Writing doesn't simply allow us to tell stories. It allows us to experience life beyond the boundaries of our own. NOW I'M CURIOUS... 💬 Has writing ever allowed you to become someone else, experience something you never imagined, or discover a part of yourself you didn't know existed? I'd love to hear how writing has expanded your world! 💜

@Roxanne Bocyck Both beautiful examples... thank you for sharing! And I agree...
@Lana McAra Its funny, with writing we can determine the outcome. That is a powerful thing to possess. It reminds me of the saying "the Pen is Mightier than the Sword" and I would agree (Unless you are in a swordfight... then I think you need the sword).
New Blog Post Under Writing Craft Tab: Write the Next Sentence, Not the Perfect Sentence!
Does perfectionism keep you from finishing what you start? Many writers struggle with the need to get every sentence just right. Discover how letting go of perfectionism, embracing imperfect first drafts, and focusing on one sentence at a time can help you write with greater confidence and creativity. Here is a link to the blog post from your Skool 'Build Your Author Career' Community Host @Lana McAra : https://www.skool.com/in-the-writers-studio/write-the-next-sentence-not-the-perfect-sentence?p=59759cdb Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments!
New Blog Post Under Writing Craft Tab: Write the Next Sentence, Not the Perfect Sentence!
@Roxanne Bocyck I love this reminder! One of the most valuable lessons I've learned as a writer is that we can't edit a blank page, but we can always improve an imperfect one. When we're constantly stopping to perfect every sentence, we interrupt the very creativity we're trying to capture. While working on 100+ Rules for Writers, I was reminded again and again that writing and editing require different mindsets. The first draft is where we discover what we want to say. Revision is where we discover how best to say it. I've also learned that sometimes the sentence we're struggling to perfect doesn't even survive the final edit! Progress gives us something to work with. Perfectionism can keep us from getting started—or finishing. So yes, write the next sentence. The polishing can come later!
What do you Think Tuesday for October 20
If you could only keep ONE marketing tool—email, social media, live events, podcasts, or advertising—which would you choose?
What do you Think Tuesday for October 20
@Roxanne Bocyck This is a tough one! After 45 years in business, I've used all five, and each has played an important role in my success. My first instinct was email marketing because of its ability to build lasting relationships. But the more I think about it, I'd choose live events—especially the stage! Some of my greatest business opportunities have come from speaking engagements, conferences, and the relationships that began with a conversation before or after a presentation. The stage has allowed me to share my expertise, introduce my books to new audiences, build credibility, and connect with people in ways that no advertisement or social media post could replicate. And the opportunities don't necessarily end when the presentation does. One speaking engagement can lead to another, a consulting opportunity, a book sale, a partnership, or a friendship that lasts for decades.
