Ready for Funding?
So I found Kyle's course in April of last year. After going through most of the course I started trading on a demo account I had been using for FOREX. Here is my first trade: 2025-04-22 10:57:52 1,561,596.59 1,551,846.59 −9,750.00USD Close short position for symbol CME_MINI:ES1! at price 5294.00 for 10 units. Position AVG Price was 5274.500000, currency: USD, rate: 1.000000, point value: 50.000000 I've continued to review the course material (somewhat inconsistently) and to trade the demo since starting the course. Here was my trade from today: 2026-02-05 11:51:26 14,291,159.09 15,948,659.09 +1,657,500.00USD Close long position for symbol CME_MINI:ES1! at price 6852.50 for 900 units. Position AVG Price was 6815.666667, currency: USD, rate: 1.000000, point value: 50.000000 So I've taken that account from about $1.5M to almost $16M in less than ten months. I'm sure I've traded larger positions than I will need to earn funded accounts, but I'm feeling really good about how I'm seeing the charts and taking entries and getting out. I feel like I'm ready to take a stab at getting funded. Just wanted to get some thoughts from people who have gotten funded on how different it was trading your own demo account, that only you see, to trading with the prop firm looking over your shoulder. Thank you Kyle for all the training. Cheers everyone, Haven

@Stephen Gerald Onyia Thanks for this Stephen, great insight. I think going from a "make money" mindset to a "follow the rules" mindset will be the #1 key for me in transitioning from a successful demo trader to a funded prop trader. I haven't really looked into the prop trading rules; I know Kyle has a fair amount of content on this, so I think that learning the rules and trying trade accordingly for a bit is my next step. Thanks again for the insight, great advice.

@Tim Harwick Hi Tim, I've kept it pretty simple. I just create supply and demand blocks based on how Kyle lays them out in the "Big Money Playbook" section of the course. I trade S&P futures exclusively off a 1H chart with limit orders. I look for price to get into a supply or demand area and then place a limit order based on price reversing from that area. So if I'm looking to go short, I wait for price to enter a supply area that I've marked and then I place a sell limit order below the market price. I like to have price moving in my direction when a limit order is filled. The only other thing I do is if the price moves half way to my target I will move my stop loss slightly into profit. Then I just let it ride. I haven't done any backtesting, just trade the demo live.
