Can I be honest with you? Today is my first proper rest day in weeks. No workshops to plan, no content to create, no inbox. Just my feet up, a series I've been saving, a book I keep meaning to finish, a few games, and maybe some slow cupboard sorting if the mood takes me. And I noticed something this morning. A small voice asking, "𝘈𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘧𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘢 𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘰𝘧𝘧?" That voice is exactly why I'm taking it. Many of us were raised to believe rest is a reward, something you get only once everything is done. But everything is never done. So we keep going, running on empty, and wonder why our joy, creativity and patience have gone quiet. 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀. 𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝘁. When you slow down, your body moves out of survival mode and starts to repair. Your mind gets space to wander, and that's often when the clarity you've been chasing finally arrives. The ideas you couldn't force at your desk tend to turn up on the couch. And there's something quieter going on as well. Every time you choose rest without guilt, you teach yourself that your worth isn't tied to how much you produce. You are allowed to simply be. So this is your permission slip, if you need one. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗵𝗮𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝘁. I'll be back tomorrow, recharged and probably with a tidier cupboard. 😊 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂: When did you last take a full rest day, with no guilt and no catching up? And what does your perfect veg day look like? Tell me in the comments. 👇 With love and light, Caro 🌿
