Alpaca shearing fun!
WARNING: have caution while playing video! The black one screams We had our annual alpaca shearing + vaccination rounds this weekend! All the alpacas react to shearing differently šŸ’– Luna here screams at the top of her lungs and Chewpaca has these little whinnies. The rest are fairly quiet, though we did have some spirited kickers!

I love having alpacas! But I will say mine at least are not very cuddly. I think if you start with a cria you may get them more used to human touch, but mine prefer the company of other alpacas to humans. Mine were adopted from 2 different farms when the alpacas were older. They're still very fun to watch and care for but they do feel like they have less personality than my goats for instance.

Anyone have cameras on their animals?
Google nest still can't tell the difference between alpacas and humans! Do you have any cameras? Where? We normally track gates and water buckets/ feeding areas!

@Hannah Tran they have a barn but apparently drizzle isn't enough to deter them from the sweet spring grass

@Theresa Burdick Yes! I actually had a surprise birth last year that I found on camera - she had gotten pregnant through a fence and carried very small, but one day I saw some little niblings around her and rushed out!!

@Theresa Burdick Hello and welcome! I'm located closer to California but I know some people in Montana, I can put out some feelers to see. That sounds like a big adjustment!
