Weekly Devotional:
Snapdragon "Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these." — Luke 12:27 Snapdragons are some of the most unique flowers in a garden. Their blossoms look almost like tiny mouths that open and close when gently pressed. Because of this, they are often seen as symbols of strength and grace. Even more interesting, snapdragons can grow in rocky soil and cooler weather, standing tall when other flowers might struggle. I think snapdragons are a reminder that strength does not always look loud or dramatic. Sometimes it looks like quietly standing firm. These flowers do not need perfect conditions to grow beautifully. They adapt. They remain upright. They continue blooming even when the environment is not ideal. In our lives, we do not always have perfect conditions either. School can feel overwhelming. Friendships can be complicated. Plans can change unexpectedly. But just like the snapdragon, we are called to stand firm in our faith. God does not promise perfect circumstances, but He promises His presence. He gives us strength to grow wherever He plants us. Snapdragons also bloom upward, reaching toward the sky. This reminds me that our hearts should constantly turn toward God. Even when life feels uncertain, we can choose to lift our thoughts, prayers, and hopes to Him. This week, consider the snapdragon. Remember that you can stand strong in difficult places, grow in unexpected seasons, and continue reaching upward. God is able to use every environment to shape your faith and help you flourish.

Weekly Devotional: Consider the Roses
"I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys." — Song of Solomon 2:1 Roses are a timeless symbol of beauty and grace, delicate yet resilient, fragrant yet strong. Each rose begins as a small bud, carefully nurtured before it opens into a full bloom. Its beauty is not rushed; it unfolds slowly, layer by layer, revealing depth, color, and fragrance in its perfect time. Like roses, God cultivates beauty and grace in our lives gradually. The challenges, lessons, and quiet seasons of growth are like the careful tending of a rosebush, trimming, watering, and protecting us so that we can blossom fully in His plan. Even when we feel closed off or incomplete, God is shaping our hearts and spirits, preparing us for the fullness of life in His love. Roses also remind us of resilience. Though storms may batter their petals and thorns may prick us along the way, the rose continues to grow, bloom, and reflect beauty in its season. In our lives, difficulties can feel painful or discouraging, yet God’s grace allows us to endure, heal, and flourish in ways that honor Him. This week, consider the rose as a reflection of God’s work in you. Remember that your beauty, strength, and grace are being cultivated in His timing. Trust that even in quiet seasons, you are being prepared to bloom in a way that will shine with His glory and love.

Weekly Devotional: Consider the Peonies
"They shall blossom abundantly and rejoice with joy and singing." — Isaiah 35:2 Peonies are a wonder of God’s creation—lush, layered, and vibrant. But peonies are not instant blooms. They spend years growing strong roots underground, preparing in secret for the moment they will burst into full beauty. Their patience and quiet resilience are reminders of how God works in our lives. Like peonies, we often grow in unseen ways. Seasons of waiting, learning, and refining may feel invisible, even unproductive—but God is shaping us, strengthening us, and preparing us for the fullness of life He has planned. The bloom is not wasted; neither is the quiet rooting, the stretching of roots, or the time spent growing in hidden spaces. Peonies also teach us about resilience. Harsh winters may come, storms may bend our stems, yet when the right time comes, they bloom even more beautifully than before. In life, challenges may feel overwhelming, but God’s care gives us the strength to endure, the courage to grow, and the hope to blossom in His timing. This week, consider the peony as a model of faith and trust. Let it remind you that growth takes time, beauty is cultivated patiently, and God’s timing is perfect. You are being prepared, nurtured, and protected—even when it’s not visible. Your season to bloom will come, and it will reflect the glory of the One who tends your life.

Weekly Devotional: Consider the Lilies
“Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin.” — Matthew 6:28 Jesus tells us to consider the lilies not just to notice them, but to study them, to learn from them, to let them reshape how we live. Lilies are not hurried. They do not anxiously work for what they will wear or how they will be seen. They simply grow where they are planted, trusting the One who placed them there. In a world that rewards pressure, performance, and constant effort, the lilies stand as a quiet contradiction. They grow without fear. They bloom without striving. They are cared for without asking. And Jesus says that if God clothes the lilies so beautifully, how much more will He care for you? This devotional is an invitation to rest deeper in God’s character. It is a call away from worry and toward trust. Lilies teach us that our value does not come from productivity, success, or recognition but from being created, seen, and sustained by God. Throughout Scripture, God works patiently. He grows fruit slowly. He prepares hearts before revealing plans. Like lilies, our lives unfold in seasons. There are times of quiet rooting, times of steady growth, and times of visible beauty. None of these seasons are wasted. As you walk through this week, allow God to reframe how you see growth, provision, and peace. Let the lilies remind you that God is attentive to detail, faithful in timing, and generous in care. You are not forgotten. You are not behind. You are being tended by a good Gardener.
