One of my favorite parts of STR design is finding ways to make a property stand out from the competition, and amenities can play such a big role in that! So I thought it would be fun to hear what everyone would choose! Let's say you have one extra room in your STR and the budget to turn it into something special. What are you picking? 🎬 A. Movie room 🎱 B. Game room 🧖‍♀️ C. Wellness area 🛏️ D. Additional bedroom Something we always consider when designing these spaces is who the target guest is, what the competition is offering, and what will make the biggest impact on the guest experience. And sometimes the most exciting amenity isn't necessarily the best choice for that particular property! I'm curious what everyone thinks! Which would you choose and why? Would your answer change depending on your STR market?

One of my favorite parts of STR design is finding inspiration that is really specific to the property and the area! For The Sugarhouse in the Montpelier, Vermont area, we were inspired by the local maple tapping and sugaring history and used that as a starting point for the design. 🍁 We even took it a step further and gave each bedroom its own theme tied back to the property. This is the Sugar Maker’s Suite, where we pulled in warm maple and amber tones, rich browns, plaid, florals, and layered patterns to give the room that cozy, nostalgic feeling without making it feel overly themed. I love finding these little connections to a property’s location and turning them into something unique for the guest experience. Sometimes the best design inspiration is already right outside the property!
