Originally South African, I now live in Northern Ireland with my daughtr and her family. I've always cooked (as a nine year-old, I remember preparing souffle omelettes for my father). I've also always loved to write. I've won a few awards as a journalist, author and publisher so it was a natural progression to teach how to write about food beyond 'delicious' to evocative and nuanced stories.
