Hi everyone, my name is Grigoriy. I’m from Uzbekistan and currently looking to transition into international rope access work. My background is mainly in work at height, rope systems, construction and technical management of adventure attractions rather than traditional industrial rope access. Since 2020, I have been a founder and Technical Director of adventure projects in Uzbekistan. My work has included building and operating ziplines, rope parks, Via Ferrata routes, rope jumping systems and suspended structures. I am also a certified Candidate for Master of Sport in climbing, with almost 13 years of climbing experience. I have strong rope-handling skills, a safety-first mindset, experience with technical rescue in mountain terrain, and practical experience with work-at-height and industrial rope access techniques. In Uzbekistan, the market for this type of work is limited, with few opportunities for professional growth and relatively low pay. I am therefore looking for opportunities in countries with a more developed rope access industry — ideally Canada, especially Vancouver, but I am open to other countries as well. I do not currently hold IRATA certification, but I am ready to obtain Level 1 immediately once I have a realistic job opportunity or employer support. I would be grateful for any advice on: • companies that consider international candidates; • work-permit or sponsorship pathways; • the best route into rope access in Canada; • whether my adventure-park and technical-construction background could be useful for entry-level rope access roles. Thank you — glad to be here and learn from people already working in the industry.
