When Did you Last Sail? Photos?
Where was your most recent sail — even if it was only a short passage. Where did you go? What happened? I’d love to see some photos. Last time I sailed was in November for my Coastal Skipper with Bourne to Sail and @Craig Coupe . Headed up to the Solent from Eastbourne and had some nice down wind action on the way back in some meaty sea - if I recall I think it was F6 - F7. Also did what was for me my most challenging and choppy entrance into Brighton Marina 🤣 Definitely not the easiest one done. Good times.

@Alex Fajardo Awesome photo. The wildlife is definitely one of the best bits about sailing. That was my first trip to the Solent and there is definitely something about it that draws you in.

That is still to be decided. I’d love a Moody 33 MkII, though.

@Nathan White 💥 I’ll take a look, mate.
What’s you favorite thing about sailing?
What do you love about sailing the most? Of course, cracking open a cold after a long passage is pretty sweet. But… For me, sailing has reconnected me with nature. I’ve become more tuned to the natural environment both on land and whilst on the water. Having a deeper and sometimes intuitive understanding of what’s happening in our environment is pretty awesome. How about you? What’s the single best thing about sailing for you right now?

Solo Mooring
Any tips on how to hook up to a mooring buoy solo?

Jose, if you’re solo sailing this dude is well worth checking out: https://youtube.com/@erikaanderaa?si=pPfPbqOumdf8frXD He sails the North Sea solo and often in some meaty conditions.

@Jose Monserrate let me know what you think. His cinematography is also pretty sweet. Especially his more recent episodes.

You’re officially one of the founding crew 👊 Thanks for jumping in early — I don't take that lightly. So keep your eyes peeled because there is a giveaway incoming 🎁 This community is for ordinary sailors — the kind of people who love the sea, want to get better, and sail more. First things first - read and acknowledge the short manifesto to finalise your membership. There’s no ego here. No judgement. No gatekeeping. Just good people who want to learn, explore, and have each others backs. To kick things off, drop a comment below with three quick things: 1️⃣ Where do you sail (or want to sail)? Coast, harbour, lake — everything counts. 2️⃣ What’s one skill you want to improve this year? Big or small: docking, passage planning, anchoring - it all counts. 3️⃣ What’s a sailing adventure you’d love to take on someday? Channel crossing? Exploring Scotland? Something simple but meaningful? Let’s get to know each other and start building something awesome. Fair winds — and welcome aboard. P.S Skool has iPhone and Android apps, which makes levelling up with The Ordinary Sailors quick and convenient.
